When requesting a raise, has an employer ever asked you for the cost of living? As an example- asking you to list out a future mortgage payment if you purchase a home, the cost of health insurance for your family, etc. Seems intrusive and weird. Raises should based on value, not what a mortgage costs…. but maybe it’s common.

Stupid appraiser under appraised my condo by 25k from the agreed upon price. Realtor disputed, and she texted me that condo finally got the fully appraised (500k). However, 2 days before the closing, my lawyer calls me that buyer says he is pulling out of the deal if I don’t lower price to appraised price by 25k because property was under appraised and he didn’t pay attention when he signed the docs.
