“The client would like a sneak peak at the work before the actual client presentation where we’re presenting the work.”

Honestly I feel like this is completely normal. In my agency days I would share the work with my main client to gain alignment prior to a larger share out with their team. Means you have one more person batting for you

I'm completely with the client on this one. In fact, you're already too late The 'big reveal' is not a thing. Are you expecting a standing ovation?.. it's best when you collaborate with your client, when they feel they've contributed, it's much more likely all will be happy

Don't be surprised when the client suddenly realizes they don't need you anymore because all that "collaboration" made them believe they are better than you at doing the work...

“Ok, Do you have an amazing pre-sell strategy in place? Or do you just not wanna send a 'tough’ email?”

I generally think they’re trying to help you here, I’ve seen this a lot usually with your close day to day client who wants both the agency and themselves to look good before their own boss. I agree it’s a tricky situation and the relationship and trust with that client makes all the difference on what you do here.

Or... the client is just saying that because they're nervous and want to control the work and make underthought reactionary major changes that you can't refuse one day before the real presentation...

A “sneak peak” shouldn’t/doesn’t mean you send them the deck in an e-mail the day before. It should mean you sit together in person and walk them through the draft -work in progress presentation /idea live, in person. Don’t send it to them electronically.

What's the point of having it then svp1? Then just send the deck, why bother doing the presentation? What's more - all of you know why people don't do it, they want the idea to be communicated properly, not just words on the page.

The big reveal is definitely a thing. Will it be perfect for the client? Maybe not. But there’s no collaboration in forwarding an email prior to a meeting. That’s not a 1:1 conversation. Instead, the day-to-day client should have time that’s baked in to collaborate with the agency after that first “big reveal” and get the work to a place everyone can be proud of before showing their boss. Just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s right.

Now that we all have live chats going during Zoom/Teams client presentations, presenting has become a horrible improv game of trying to casually incorporate the things everyone is typing in chat.

I’m very into indian arts culture and myself learned classical dance forms (3), Carnatic singing, and violin, but I am interested to hear about some more arts you all might be engaging in as hobbies or passions. I really like to work with my hands to create something. Right now I’m working on a project to learn interior design using high end, business professional desi design patterns in my apt. What are some other nice arts culture hobbies inspired by India?

I spitballed an idea in a meeting, ECD loved it and took it straight to our client’s CMO and the concept became the backbone of a 3.2MM campaign. Now my creative team hates me and it’s awkward as fuck
