Yes, especially since wait staff in other countries make a living wage. No tipping in France, for example. Or Denmark.

Or when they flip the iPad around so that the people behind you in line can see whether you tip. When they do that I always tip 0 because it gives the people behind me permission to do the same

Agreed, it’s only the US. There are tipping jars in delis and take-out places in NYC, these non-sit down restaurants, I mean on what basis are they entitled to a tip?! Cant stand it.
