I think there’s a difference between the federal and private level on this matter. Unlike the private industry, in my opinion there’s a higher bar that needs to be met for educating federal employees on this issue that currently isn’t in place. The stakes are higher on a federal level with the ubiquitous presence of foreign espionage, and federal employees being vulnerable to other governments leaking sensitive information. Devoid of more sophisticated training of federal employees on particularly the historical aspects of race theory, I think it’s a fair statement to say that it could breed more “doubt” about their federal cause which can have major ramifications. Again not disagreeing that these programs are vital and necessary, only that what is currently in place does not meet the threshold reflected in common wisdom statements like “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.”
Thank you for sharing this other perspective - I hadn't thought about it in that context. Your rationale sounds much more reasonable than what was stated in the official memo.
