My upcoming trip is the first time I'll be travelling internationally after getting Global Entry. The DHS portal says that "You do not need the Global Entry card for travel by air"

Question: So I don't actually need to carry the card with me? My passport info is connected to the Global Entry system?

That’s correct. No need to carry the card.

like

Yes I did not need mine. Global entry card is basically just another form of ID if you’re flying

like

Having global entry does, but you don’t need your card to use global entry.

like

I carry it in my wallet because you never know when a 2nd form of ID might be handy, and it's easy enough to just forget it or know where it is that way. That said, you only need it for global entry countries, so you may want to check if where you're going qualifies, but as others have said, no one has ever asked to see the card

like

Don’t need the card. You just go to the global entry line coming back into the US and scan your passport on the machine. It’s all linked on your passport

likehelpful

Follow the signs for global entry. There are kiosks that work off your passport or facial recognition.

like

Just came back used my GE for the 1st time, didn't need ANYTHING. Went in the GE line, lowered my mask, looked at the screen in the kiosk and walked out. It was amazing.

like

The card also qualifies as a REAL ID. So if you don’t want to go to the DMV later once TSA requires all IDs be REAL ID to travel domestically, just carry your GE card.

smarthelpful

WHAT!
This is excellent news. I didn’t want to carry my passport around

like

You do not need to carry the card. I put mine in a drawer and it has remained there for many years

like

Only time you need the physical card is crossing by land

like

And Canadian pre-clearance, they made me show it before going to immigration

like

Theoretically you don’t need it….
The first time I flew with Global Entry the kiosk wouldn’t scan my face and the agent asked for my card. I didn’t have it and he did eventually let me through, so I’ll carry it from now on.

helpful

Its technically not needed, but I always bring it, I have actually been through twice where the GE systems were down and I just needed to show my card and got to get through without standing in the other line. Also just good to have as a backup ID.

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I am in the customer service and sales side of travel insurance, and I am looking for a new job, possibly in another field. A much larger company purchased us 2 years ago, and over the last 6 months I have lost 2 designations, one as an advocate, which was my most rewarding. I was told that it had nothing to do with my performance. Any suggestions on how to obtain a position in another area? Such as going from strictly customer service and sales to advocate and claims? Thanks

What are some strategies or tactics you have developed which are very successful in small markets (I'm talking SUPER small)? I feel like I've thrown all my darts and some markets still can't find talent.

Some things I've tried, here in Canada:

- non-profit/employment centers
- indeed headunting
- getting field/hiring managers to post around town
- getting on local FB groups
- local schools if there are any
- physical posters
- newspaper/old media (not great)

Ideas needed 😭
