Anyone have menstrual complications after their covid vaccine so bad they ended up calling their doctors? What did they do for you? I have had my period for 6 weeks straight after the covid vaccine. I worked with my doctor for YEARS to get my cycle and body where it needed to be (endometriosis) and have been on a pill so things were finally consistent and going great until the shot. I am miserable, scared and in pain. Just need to know I’m not the only one and things will get better.
How do you deal with family in India believing and spreading every false rumor/forwarded message on WhatsApp? I stopped correcting them a few years ago when I realized it was bad for my relationship with them, but the forwards nowadays especially related to Covid is outright dangerous (and obviously false when read by an educated person). Very worried about this
How many of you moved back in with your parents due to COVID? I’m seriously considering moving back home once my lease is up.
How frequently should one expect or advocate for a raise at a small firm? I moved to a new firm (about ten lawyers) about two and a half years ago. After my first year I got a 20% raise following a brief and exclusively positive performance review. Its been about 17 months since then and silence. I have the general sense that the firm struggled a little financially during COVID and I don't want to seem ungrateful or greedy, but apparently the firm is doing well enough to hire more associates.
A play I’m liking and want to share: GeoVax, $GOVX... showing some bullishness. • Single-dose, universal coronavirus vaccine for COVID-19, COVID-20, etc. • No FDA requirement for toxicology testing expected. • Scale up for Emergency Use Authorization readiness during Phase 1a/1b clinical trial • $20M+ in cash, no debt. • 6 PRV eligible products, PRVs are auction-able and worth up to $100M or more each. • 4 milestones in 1H 2021 upcoming • A float so tiny it makes your rocket blush. https://www.geovax.com/images/210308_GeoVax_Fact_Sheet.pdf
Thoughts on Cuomo’s decision to reopen schools?
Just curious. Did CDC change its social distancing guideline from 6 feet to 3 feet in order to make it easier for schools to reopen?
Anyone know of any good black financial advisors/ wealth managers? I live in the DC area. During all this COVID-19 related stuff it feels like a good time to make sure my finances are in order.
best sources or partners for archival / found footage / UGC, given the current live shoot limitations? (ie, preferably not the generic stock being used in every covid relief spot)
Chicago Tribune: Huge crowd gathers at Rotary Hill near Naperville District 203 offices to demand area schools reopen. Hundreds of Naperville-area parents & students rallied Monday to urge local school boards to bring students back to the classroom and the playing field. Hmm...so all these parents just want to send their kids into schools do die, right? And kill all the teachers and their families too. All out of pure selfishness.
I secured a 2-year lease on my luxury studio during covid but am looking to transfer it to someone new around the 1-year mark (moving in with SO). Would it be reasonable to ask the new tenant to split the penalty with me (we each pay $2400) since they get to keep the low rent rate that I secured? The studio is back at market price now (~$1200 more than my current rent).
Those claiming A human life is more important than cars and shops - Why would you all gather up without wearing masks or social distancing? 100k+ ppl already died in the US due to COVID-19.
Just found out that my landlord has registered my apartment as rent controlled under a different leaser for the past 3 years I’ve lived there. I’m currently on a covid deal (-%33 of what I was originally paying) and would love to switch to rent stabilized at the same rate. Will I have to go back to the prior rate or keep my current lease? Anyone ever dealt with switching from rent controlled to rent stabilized before?
Got tested positive for Covid and a little worried. I live alone so thankfully no one got infected. I live far from home ( different country) so don’t want to inform mom dad and have them worried. Although I just feel chills now I am worried about things getting bad, just wanted to vent
Help — would love to get into production but I have 0 experience, besides the occasional talent + competitive research for a brand’s series. How do I get started? Really just want to help out on set* and see how things work! *Covid pending / future aspirations
Very anxious about the rest of this year. My partner who I live with lost his job due to Covid earlier this year and hasn’t been able to find another one. He’s running out of savings because there hasn’t been another stimulus package and I am having a hard time getting through the days because of this added stress on top of my job. I can’t share with him how burdening this all feels— it’s like I’m suffocating.

Anyone who’s interviewed with another firm before leaving the previous company - what was your experience?

Any D 🐠 gone from Booz Fed work to D Fed work? Big difference in terms of WLB and compensation, or no?
Does anyone have any COVID-friendly optometrist recommendations within the district? Looking to find someone closer as I just moved in the city
Anyone care to share their thoughts on ID me as a company? Thinking about applying for a position there.
Anyone work at HAVI? Interviewing with them and I’m trying to get some insights on their company culture and the type of projects they work on
My students have been obsessed with using the magnifying glasses. We have explored with them inside and outside of the classroom. I was thinking about maybe creating a scavenger hunt....any ideas?
Been doing the M-Th grind for a few months now. No sleep, I’m getting depressed, and miss my SO terribly. SM and Manager don’t care since I’m pretty vital to the project. How to make it more bearable?
What do you do when your manager is also your RL and has never managed people before? They’re impacting my mental health and I am trying to stay positive, but this every work day. Doesn’t know what they want, doesn’t know how to speak to anyone with a title below his. Makes an attempt to apologize only to repeat the same trashy behavior again. I am beginning to check out. I nearly cried during our last meeting and that wasn’t even close to the worse one we’ve had. Cont’d..
I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?
Is dropbox facility ON now? I might need to go to India in a week due to family emergency and was wondering if Dropbox is available. My visa expired 20 months back so I qualify for interview waiver. TIA
Joining competitor, boss was shocked and didn't expect to lose me to competitor. I stated reasons as step-up opportunity, project focus, pay but boss is not convinced. Competitor has similar branding, more niche focus. Getting promoted to one level up is the key reason for me. Am I missing any thought process?
EY - are tennis rackets and tennis lessons permissible under our $500 fitness reimbursement program?
With Google employees unionizing, makes you wonder if other professional service employees could follow. What are the chances something similar happens at Big 4?
How likely is it that a firm will cut the budget for hours on a a huge lucrative client?
Ok I don’t want to sound hypersensitive, but does anyone else think the phrase “on the bench” is kind of harsh? I’m not even on the bench but I feel slightly uncomfortable saying it
Had a final round interview today where I believe 3/4 of them went really well. The call with the manager was okay - they didn’t seem as engaged. Will this hinder me?
I just received an offer, and want to make sure I’m not leaving any money on the table. What is the typical wiggle room companies have for negotiation? What would be a good counter salary increment (in terms of %) that won’t scare them off, but allows me to capture as much of that wiggle room they have? (No defined compensation matrix or anything at this company) thanks!
