If he’s showing up to 1 out of 5, you have too many. Suggest a cadence switch or just decline the meetings and reschedule the series. Go for 3 that he actually attends. Make 1 optional. You need to manage upwards and ascertain the bare minimum, and ensure you get that. Also figure out when the managers optimal review time window is, and request targeted input on xyz by email. The client shouldn’t be aware, are you sure you aren’t saying/doing anything to reinforce that? If so, stop that.

And so he can QC my work before it makes it to a client. Is it rude to, at the end of my EOD updates, attach a list of things I am waiting for him on? It feels rude to me but I often get held up on tasks requiring internal info that only he has access to on our team.

I’ll add that I prepare the best I can and so far the client seems very pleased with me, but even the lead on the client side makes jokes about how my manager is never present for me. It’s getting embarrassing

Also - Managing upwards is part of your job. Be proactive.

Go for it. Make it sound nice - “Below are the items currently pending your feedback” or group it into an open tasks log general format with a waiting/pending column. Then some items can say waiting manager review, others pending client feedback, further research required, consulting with XYZ team, etc.

I’ve been trying to figure out dosage and medication over the past month and wanted some insight from people who may have more experience with diff doses. I started with 5mg Adderall for 2 weeks but it stopped being effective around the 4-5th day. I switched to 10 mg for a week and it was good but a bit up and down, so switched to Vyvanse 30 mg for a week, which was too strong. I’m now on 15 mg Adderall, but it feels like I can’t concentrate and I’m scattered. Question in comments:

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
