Wanted to share smth I found recently. I felt like it was pretty darn accurate. I’ll provide the link here but there’s a screenshot I took that I feel I can relate to quite heavily. https://pairedlife.com/love/infatuations
I’ve struggled with so many heavy infatuations before and a friend recommended this. Hope it helps anyone else out there who’s gone through this or may be going through this right now.

Agree with AD1. Write down what energized you and what depleted you in your role to get a better sense of what you enjoy doing and look for roles with more of those elements. Also take stock of what depletes you.
It might be hard in the moment if you're not enjoying your day to day, so try to take stock over a period of time or through targeted reflection so you can try to get to the task/activity level

What do you like doing and what don’t you like doing? Look for a role where u primarily do what you like doing and try to keep it minimal at what you don’t like doing
Thanks! I have a lot of social anxiety, and it seems like consulting in general is not the best fit, since there is so much pressure to sell yourself and constantly present. But the anxiety itself also seems to be related to the fact that I don’t find a lot of what I do to be interesting at all 😅
This job can definitely do it to you , but it doesn’t mean the grass is greener . May be time for industry job

I can totally relate. I’m putting in my notice in the next few weeks after busy season is done and can’t be more excited for the change.
For me i knew for the longest time I wanted to move on but would find 100 of excuses why I should stay. It all boiled down to being afraid of change (what if the next job is worse, what if nobody will hire me, what if I pigeoned holed myself into tax and can’t do anything else?)
What helped me make and be secure in this decision was coming up with a list of things I wanted out of my life and realizing that staying at my current work was literally going to make it impossible to get there.
Trust in your ability to make a decision that’s right to you. And trust in your ability that you will get through whatever challenges that come after.
