If anyone is going from the East Bay to Yosemite tomorrow morning, please let me know. I would really appreciate it if I could get a ride 🙏🏼 Of course I’m splitting the cost of gas and can bring snacks! I’m also vaccinated and just got a negative covid test. Thanks!
Curious, are attorneys taking cases to sue hospitals and staff that the family members claim have ‘wrongly’ intubated unvaccinated COVID patients? As in they should not have been intubated? Saw a FB page where a woman is blaming the hospital staff that his husband should not have been intubated and says she has been contacted by many attorneys to sue the hospital.

Can anyone recommend a running app? I haven’t ran since pre-COVID since gyms have been closed. I’m desperate to start running again
So basically our industry decided to massacre all the vendors, big and small, through indifference? AICP calls out brands for owing hundreds of millions in late payments amid Coronavirus pandemic https://adage.com/article/advertising/aicp-calls-out-brands-owing-hundreds-millions-late-payments-amid-coronavirus-pandemic/2245621
I managed to drop my rent by 15% during covid and now my landlord wants to hike it up to pre-covid level. Are people experiencing the same?
Been getting a ton of recruiter outreach messages lately, and a lot of them are attractive roles that I would never even be on a shortlist for. I'm a mid-range analyst at best. Anyone else getting these messages too? Is the market really that thin? I find it a bit unbelievable because I spent two years unemployed and barely getting interviews prior to COVID.
My apt building just told us only 1 of 2 elevators will be functioning for the next 46 weeks. My lease ends in April 2022. Can I use this as a leverage point to try and keep my current Covid rent price on my apt? Huge inconvenience
How can I accelerate my path to FIRE? Currently making ~$5.2k/month after taxes and send money to the following: - $500 for expenses (living with parents during covid) - $2.7k to max 401k and IRA with mega backdoor contributions - $1.5k towards down payment savings in HYSA - $400 to brokerage account
I’ve gained 20 lbs since COVID started. Don’t think I can fit in any of my pre-COVID work pants. Anyone else in the same boat?
I got laid off during Covid and pivoted to PM at FAANG and a partner is reaching out to me about rejoining. A part of me misses consulting but have the salty taste of my lay off experience.
I googled this…no pun intended…but what is the policy for covid vaccines? I read on some articles that it is only for attending the office, but I heard from conversations that all personnel are required to be vaccinated even if they work fully remote.
Currently working at Accenture as a C (promoted Dec ‘19), but I know I ultimately want to make the jump over to Deloitte. I am on track to be promoted to M in the 2021 promo cycle and I know Deloitte would likely knock me down one level either way. Due to COVID-19, it seems like it doesn’t make sense to jump ship for at least another year while things get back to normal. Any thoughts on if it’s better to wait it out and leave after making M (but how long after?) or try to leave earlier? TIA
Under normal circumstances (I.e. pre Covid), is it much harder to get sponsored for actually academic courses like MA or MPhil as opposed to MBAs? People might say those are not as relevant as MBAs to business, but MBAs don’t strike me as anything particularly vocational either.
Condolences to the family of the teacher in North Carolina that recently died from Covid. Sadly-she won’t be the last of our profession to die in the “line of duty.”
Really sad knowing that it will be hard to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas this year due to COVID19...
Had my Green Card (AOS) interview today for a marriage based application. We did not receive an immediate decision after the interview. One item cited by the officer was the expiration of I-693 medical records (it’s been over 2 years since we filed). Coincidently, as per new USCIS guidelines, they’ve extended the validity of I-693 to 4 years due to covid. I didn’t know this or else I would’ve called it out. I’m hoping this doesn’t generate an RFE. Anyone here with a similar experience? Any RFEs?
Birthday gift ideas for a new mom with a month old newborn? Not in the same city as her and I don’t think she’ll want any experience-type gifts with COVID still ongoing
Anyone willing to chat / give a referral for Mckinsey , BCG , Bain? Have experience working in Security Strategy!
Working with an (external) headhunter for a role, and just found out they want me to proceed to the second round of interviews. I had told the headhunter after the first round that I was interested in moving forward (although I did express some concerns I had) but after thinking about it, I’ve decided I’m not interested in the role. Does it look bad to go back on my word and drop out of the process now?
Which practice and level would be equivalent at McKinsey for a Deloitte Human Capital Senior Consultant?
Had a very long day. Just got a notification that my curbside pickup @ Target was ready. I got the order and then went inside and got myself a Pizza Hut cheese pizza. Sitting in the car all by myself and enjoying every slice of this. Kids are at home, getting ready to get to bed. And I'm not feeling a bit guilty.
Hi everyone, i have an upcoming first round with jefferies, can someone give me a little insight on the culture of the firm in terms of the people and what to expect as it relates to questions i heard the firm is very technical based. Jefferies
There was a similar post here recently, but I am currently in the same boat. (I’m also torn because it’s a difference of $2k/month after taxes) 1. Boring work at start up with a toxic environment (no WLB, etc) for just over $200k base + bonus + equity 2. Solid work at an award-winning shop (and WLB) with a team you dig, trust, and have worked with before for $150K
If you aren’t a US citizen and plan to return to your home country in a few years, does it still make sense to max out 401k ?

Is on-cycle recruiting done? My into meeting was postponed by the headhunters a few times, so I was only able to connect with a few of the major headhunters this week
Is posting recorded class session in Google classroom a violation of the student privacy?
Any Accenture UK folks in this bowl? I have a phone interview and could use some pointers!
We never went to the moon
My company plans to have an onsite meeting for 3 days which would require me to travel and stay at a hotel. I recently joined the company so this will be a great opportunity to meet my team but at the same time worried about what I would bring back from the travel. I’ve two girls under 3 who go to daycare but we have tried to be as cautious as possible. I’m not sure if they would have such meetings in the future so trying to decide what is best for myself and my family. What would you do?
Thinking about joining Accenture (US). Does anyone know when the maternity leave policy is effective? I have heard it may be Day 1 of employment, but usually it happens after a year.
