The new engagement sounds like a promising one (huge client with world-wide presence, industry-leading technology, “great opportunity for my career”, long-term gig)… But I don’t feel comfortable or respected when I speak with the future PM. Is it worth it? The company pays the same whether it’s this project or another one / others. None sound terrible or alarming upfront :)

In everyone’s opinion, how quickly after joining new piece of business, can the client make a fair judgement of the account lead’s ability? Think a month is enough time to say this person rocks or not

The best work I made was hated by the client. They hated it until sales increased and headlines called them brave. Then they won awards. Then they took credit. Then they hated our next idea.

On a 2.5 hour phone call today with external vendor and 12 of client A's team. Subject matter is irrelevant to our partnership. I've also heard this vendor's pitch 4+ times. During call, an emergency ensues for a client B. On my phone texting team during said unimportant call. Client A TEXTS me to tell me "I can see you on your phone." This same Client A has texted me on a team call before to tell me to TAKE MY GUM OUT when I'm not speaking. How do you professionally tell a client to GTFOH?

Is it ever appropriate to mention how long a partner has let a project sit? I’m annoyed because I have other projects to do, and this partner keeps emphasizing how big a priority the project he neglected is. Now he wants me to drop everything to get it done. There’s no real deadline involved, but he brings it up every chance he gets. I know I’m not getting the project to him as soon as he would’ve liked, but is there any tactful way to defend myself - e.g., if he mentions this in my review?
