When traveling and out to dinner with your team, do y’all continue to talk about your project and work? I feel like that’s all we talk about, even on our personal time.
EY leadership has no boundaries. My husband is working in a project where they are in critical phase of testing and delivery of the system. His leadership calls him at 6am in the morning for status updates when they know for sure that he was up till 2/3 am working. I am asking him to put foot down but it seems he is the only one with the required knowledge. Venting ends. Thanks for hearing me out.
Took a freelance writing gig with a big agency, went through several rounds of work. Now, getting radio silence from the producer as they are “waiting on client feedback”. (Cont’d)
I am sick and tired of a male subordinate bossing me and other team members around, acting like he owns the whole project, deliverables, me and other team members. Project Director chooses not to do anything about it. Any tips on how to deal with that asshole on a daily basis?
The client was really blown away and impressed by our presentation today. Looking forward to Monday when their feedback email politely kills all of the ideas.
Awkward Questions from Client: So you're out of CO right, do you smoke weed? ... No, and not appropriate in the middle of a meeting
My client just told me that their company will fail if our deliverables don’t get the job done 😅
Been on the bench since getting hired at my new firm in October. I’ve been able to do some great ML/data engineering work for an internal project but
What is your least favorite kind of client?
hypothetical: account brings a decent brief with a decent budget. client is allegedly “open minded” and “reasonable”. needs a big idea. offsite brainstorm, where do you go and what do you bring?
Folks, I just got promoted and joined this group. How should I approach selling consulting services? I am delivering services and not had much success farming given the client environment. How can I start hunting? Any steps or tried-out resources I can leverage? Help out a fella trying to do his job better 🙏
How do I get my old project to leave me alone? I rolled off, but they keep calling me in for little things. My new project leads are okay with it for now, but I want it to end. What to do?
Is it faux pas to highlight a few select engagements on my LinkedIn profile? Even if client names/details redacted? I don't see it done much, especially by those in higher grades
Got an offer from Guidehouse as a senior consultant in HIA back in January. The recruiter is MIA and not coming up with joining date and giving reasons like other PRoject team was put on bench and they will be allocated first before giving joining dates to the new hires. What should I do...if the recruiter comes back with the joining date. Should I join? What is the business situation at Guidehouse right now?
TFW you're dressed in civvies and encounter part of your new project team on the rental bus. #youneverknowwhoslistening #wakeupmonday speculating as to whom your new Partner is and their parentage..
I get too distracted by reddit, youtube and google to make WFH a viable solution. I’m also struggling to focus on work when I see client tasks as inconsequential in the face of COVID. What do?
Why do previous generations feel the need to belittle the hard work of younger people? My parents always insist they used to put in as many hours as I do when they were my age, but I know it’s not true because I was actually old enough to remember it! (They could afford having a kid. I can’t)

Do B4 accountants make more than B4 consultants?
Currently in a fee dispute with our attorney for a personal matter. Our attorney was sued personally by the opposing party in the course of his representation of us. The suit was completely frivolous and dismissed by the judge. But our attorney spent close to $5K on counsel to defend himself and is now trying to pass that cost on to us. Is this appropriate/ethical? Where we had no control over those fees, it doesn't feel right, and many of my attorney friends agree. I'd love more thoughts.
Anyone at Prophet? Would love to ask you a few questions about culture, work life balance, etc.
Does anyone else feel as though they ought to either (1) quit your job or (2) cry when senior folks in your department boast somehow (or complain) they’ve not taken a week+ long vacation in two years?
I'm interviewing with a very small consulting company UK based (30 people half of them ex mbb). They just sent me 2 links: a assessment link and and video recording link. Does anyone have any idea what should I expect from the assessment and video recording?
For those in smaller high growth tech companies, where do you turn for resources on org development, engagement, trends, etc.? I’m moving from a large tech org to a a 150 person company. SHRM does not seem relevant at all. Podcasts, social media followings, etc?
Any advice for recent/upcoming grads wanting to break into the industry but not able to find opportunities due to COVID? Thanks!
What's the best way to get an interview at FANG? Keep seeing all these post for FANG offers...so just wondering. My background is not technical.
Where can I find a description of the benefits offered by the legal plan? Do we have to use their attorneys? How much of the cost of a will do they cover?
Agencies (in-house or otherwise) who are worth making an effort for in Austin, TX, specifically for project managers and creative operations? Asking for a friend. (FOR REAL.)
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
The risk of a pandemic happening seems like it's been known, at least conceptually, for a while. Not well-read on the details of the US healthcare system, but why didn't we have a plan for this?
