Max is $450 a week. Try living on that. And you have to go to the dept of labor every few weeks to prove you are actively looking for a job. Have any of u ever been to the dept of labor office? Its miserable. Absolutely miserable.

Thought it happened only to me, no one i know seemed to know what i was talking about. What a pain in the ass. Not just miserable, employees are obtuse. Was close to just tell them keep the money and leave me alone.

What makes you say that? I’m on it currently while I’m full-time job searching and it has been an easier process than I thought it’d be.

By the time they approved me to have it, I got an offer smh. Good luck, you will find something!

Compared to where, Norway? NY on par with most US states.

Oh, you meant the WEBSITE is so so so bad. Not surprising a strategy director wrote an unclear thought, leading everyone down the wrong path. 😜

Definitely not mobile optimized. Do the forms on a desktop and it’s more manageable. Nickels worth of free advice : have them deduct taxes!

$450 a week isn’t supposed to be a living wage, and money in hand is nothing to complain about. I’ve been on too many 1099 jobs lately, I’d love to pick up some W2 work so I’d qualify again. It pays my rent in the slow periods. As far as going in—interesting, I haven’t had to do that in years, I thought they’d dropped that requirement. Whenever I can collect, it’s just a few clicks on the computer once a week.

JC1 I live in NYC. In 20 years I’ve gone three times and haven’t had to go in over 10 years now. Lucky I guess.

i feel like staying in consulting isn’t a matter of how efficient/hardworking you are. it’s about your personality’s ability to let the “bad” flow over your shoulders more easily than others who might harbor and resent the lifestyle. That said, consulting is so not for me. The health issues Ive gotten from the intensity of this job is literally astounding. Like I don’t even feel human at this point, but others on my team are fine. it’s a personality thing

Need a birthday gift idea for my dad turning almost 70 this weekend! He had always been a cheerful, sociable, health-conscious person until he had an unfortunate heart condition last year and is practically disabled now. Need a live-in nurse to help him walk, shower, etc. His mind, cognitive is still great. He’s very low-key, down to earth, and always say no need to get him gifts. I want this birthday to be very special for him and make him feel optimistic about life. Appreciate any views -x

Which title would you use on your CV to better position yourself for client side comms roles? I’m pretty sad right now- I learned that my dad committed 529 fraud against my siblings. He sent overpayments to universities, received reimbursement checks in my siblings names, and then forged my siblings signature and deposited to his account. My sister has $70k in student loans. My brother likely will have many too. My sister is owed at least $22k already, and that’s just from the records I found. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Don’t want to go legal if avoidable
