I’m tired to the point that I’m finding ways to transition into independent contracting. I have zero desire and motivation to shuck and jive into a token management position doing the work the white people refuse to do.
So you’re going to do D&I work as an independent? Get out of D&I altogether? Trying to make sure I understand your point.

Associate 1, somewhere above I mentioned the group of black women in HR that I spoke to recently. They specifically work on D&I initiatives that are run by white women. Every single one of them was venting about how ineffective white folks are at this, how they exclude black people and white wash over us by sweeping us into broad acronyms, and how they thought the solution was that black people need to be at the helm of these initiatives.
So, I think the simple answer is that trusting white people to include us just doesn’t work in real life. We are more well suited for that power/position ourselves. They can’t do it right without us.
I’m sure you can probably imagine I’m tired of debating here. So we may just have to agree to disagree if you see it another way but that’s the answer to your question.
