The senior manager on my current project just told me, "You remind me of my son". I'm a female... WTF

Have any of you experienced a more junior person go above you... specifically, the staff sent me a file, I (a senior) reviewed and updated it and sent it to the mgr late Friday so he had enough time to review before our Monday early afternoon call with the client. I had an email come through tonight from the staff sending the mgr an updated file “correcting” mine... in no way do I think I’m the best and my file is perfect, but I was a little taken aback... am I dramatic or is this bold?
