I’m 36, earn 100k and I work maybe 30 hours a week, and I’m a shining star. It allows me to enjoy life without stress. I can linger around and see myself (slowly) climbing the ladder. But part of me wants to put in hard work and grow a lot in my career and earn more for a stable financial future, but it means I’ve got to work more and stress more and I’m worried I won’t get time to relax and enjoy my life as before. But also I’m worried I’ll slack off. Anyone going through this? Would I regret?
Struggling heavily with mental health amid the crisis, due to loneliness and the gradual realization that we're really in this for the long haul and things likely aren't going back to normal for a long time. Zoom calls help a little but not that much and the constant barrage of people talking about 'the new normal' only makes it worse. Any tips/advice?
I am SO tired of hearing “you’re on mute”. How have people not figured out how to effectively use zoom/teams/etc yet. 🤦♀️😭
My trainer just kicked my ass over zoom in a weighted cardio workout 🙌🏼💪🏼 I miss my gym but I’m thankful we can still workout
My best friend threw me a surprise (zoom) baby shower...she put SO much time & effort into coordinating everyone, making it special, coming up with games (and giving out prizes out of her own pocket). I want to send her something as a thanks, but not sure what. Any ideas? Obviously nothing like salon/spa/restaurant gift card due to COVID, which would have been what I’d give her in normal times.
Planning to quarantine w my SO in a cabin for a bit, but it doesn’t have internet and they want to charge us an obscene amount to install it. Does anyone have any portable internet solutions that can handle zoom calls, etc?
I am the partner leading our local office lgbt group. What should I be doing to engage more with our people during this time? Zoom once a month only goes so far I think but I have run out of other ideas.
When you send 2 enumerated, short questions over Slack and your colleague responds with a paragraph answering neither 🥲
Is everyone always on a video call at Google? Many other companies have communication around zoom/video call fatigue, but wondering if that culture has dipped into Google's at all?
Two R1 Zoom interviews - one went well and the other not so well. Think it was a good cop bad cop situation. Do they factor in both interviews 50-50?
Breastfeeding on a zoom call. Yay or nay? Was awkward in the call today. With webcam on. No one said anything but can tell from the faces the bewilderment. 5 people call. 3 women and 2 men. Kept up to point and wrapped the call quickly. I am one of the males btw.
What’s a fun activity that everyone could participate in virtual happy hour? There are about 30 people.
Swung open the door to the living room singing and dancing to the book of mormon. my wife turns around and whisper yells "I'M ON ZOOM!" Fail.
What are some fun team activities that you can do in Microsoft teams (not during a zoom meeting)? Like posting memes related to your team, summer selfies, pics of your pets etc...
Anyone feel almost shamed or snarky comments are said when you do your job or don’t slack like some of the coworkers? I don’t want to be rude but also want to let them know it’s not cool.
I’m looking for a tutor via zoom to learn Italian...has anyone done anything like this before, or have any recommendations? Any and all advice appreciated!
Skype for Business = Big-kid MSN
I can't believe we're more than a year into the pandemic and people are still trying to force zoom hangouts with people they didn't hang out with before the pandemic. 🙄
Hi folks! While we get through this quarantine, if anyone of you is interested in learning classical Carnatic music virtually(via Skype/similar) from a qualified and experienced music teacher, please-

It will be 4 years in the firm performing analytics, business intelligence & PMO roles including 1.5 years of international client engagement. Is it time to target Manager? How long should I wait?
We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
Some people just have it all. The partner that I work with is on fast track. Became partner in late 30s (no mba). Has multiple kids and is also a talented artist. How do these people manage to have a very good family life, also be on fast track in the firm (which means spending endless hours ) and also do something they love (sing, paint, dance) on the side? I have one kid and I don’t seem to find any time outside of work and spending time with my kid
Anyone interviewed at Facebook for any Analytics role or position? Any insight on technical/analytical interviews or in general any advice on how to prep for the interviews? Any help is welcomed
Anything "extra" you get booking car rentals through Trips vs. through Avis app? I'm doing a weekly rental with different pick up and drop off next week and it seems to be like $100 cheaper on Avis.
There’s frequent commentary about leaving a company post-pandemic if that company expects a return to weekly travel. Did folks ever discuss a more purpose-driven travel expectation with clients and internal teams before covid? I’m just surprised that people make it sound like it’s either 100% travel or 100% WFH without regard for whatever needs to get accomplished or how it gets accomplished
I was placed on PIP due to unavailable projects... and right before my pip period was about the end, I got placed on a project. is it weird I was hoping to get fired and get my severance package?
I was offered a Sc at Capco in NY. What is a reasonable salary? Anything I also should consider?
PWC / Strategy& fish - saw a post mentioning layoffs that included recent hires. Is it true? Which verticals are most affected? Starting at S& in a few months...
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Hello all, Opening in TCS CBO (BPS). Any B.com candidate looking for job then, Please share me resume at email@example.com Experience : 1-2 year Location : Across India
Can I use iTravel to book a personal rental car for myself (assuming that I don't expense the car cost to EY)? I don't own a car and I'm under 25 and I want to take advantage of EY negotiated rates.
Anyone had an interview with PwC FDD recently? How long did you wait after the HR call for an interview?
Hi Fishes, How's KPMG Global services as compared to Deloitte India . I have cleared all rounds and expecting 30-40% hike on my current CTC. Experience 7.6Y Is it worth to switch to KPMG Global services from DI for senior consultant role Please advise Thanks in advance
MBB 🐠 a few questions: 1) do you also often have these budget problem discussions at the client not being able to fund the next stage or do they know it‘s gonna be expensive? 2) do engagement consultants do BD in between projects or is it a dedicated acquisition team? 3) how much time do you spend on internal initiatives (and if that depends on the rank)?
