Because an idiot got off with an unreasonably light sentence because of his athletic status.
Can you point to a similar case with precedence for a heavier sentence, or is this one of those things a special snowflake just 'feels'?
Idk case law, but if the former LA DA says it's rare sentencing, I'll take his word. Also idk about "athlete status" but the judge is a Stanford alumnus, that's enough bias cause
^Exactly. Look, I agree he shouldn't be burned at the stake like some harpies are crying for, but I do believe 6months was unreasonably light, and points to a bias the judge had. I do not think the judge should be recalled (then every judge would feel public pressure in their rulings, and that's dangerous), but it was pretty stupid of him to be so lenient.
