The sudden death of a friend has made me realize that my obsession with goals has caused me to miss out on so much of my life. How can I learn to refocus and make time for the people in my life?

I understand you completely, a year ago I lost a special person in my life and I realized that life is short and we must enjoy it.

Sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing your experience

i’m so sorry for your loss. i would start by reconnecting with a couple of people you feel distant from. start small and you can build from there!

Thank you for your kind words and advice, I'm hoping to reconnect with other people from our old friend group

My deepest condolences. If possible, try to take some time off to properly grieve the loss of your friend and give yourself the space consider what aspects of your life can be subject to change

Thank you for sharing your advice. I'm just waiting on approval for my time off request so I can try to process all of this.

I am sorry for your loss, I recommend you not to waste any more time. You have to enjoy your life, do the things you like to do, not because of this you are going to neglect your work. You just need to get organized.

Sorry for your loss, it's never easy to lose someone we care about. I actually had a similar realization for different reasons and I found that stepping down to a less demanding role helped me find the time and space to care for the people in my life

Thank you, I'll make sure to explore my options in the near future

My condolences, friend. Life is too short to spend most of it working. I once heard that no one finds themselves at their deathbed wishing they had spent more time at work.

I never thought about it that way, thank you for your insight

Time is our most precious commodity, and it's one that we can never get back no matter how hard we try. Make every second count

Everything in life must have a time or away, there are those who enjoy achieving goals and get bored when they do not have a new path to face or a new challenge, as are the people who enjoy life for what it is, and in the end, we are the hybrids where we do both things but we don't know what is right.

It is time that you learn to enjoy your small victories, if you achieved something keep in mind that there is a team of people behind you supporting and loving you, those people are the best for you to celebrate your achievements, do not leave them aside.

I have been approached by 3 separate HR people at a startup company to interview for a position. I already have a fulltime job that pays well and I only started 6 months ago too. Anyways, the pay was intriguing and the job was a high level scientific advisor so I did interviews. At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. I feel peeved that they wasted my time. Red flags?
