Guessing you don't watch that much football

Ass1 - what kind of idiotic idea is that? You know they do two 15 minute period before pk's in soccer, right? They should just play out a 15 minute period, and if they are still tied at the end of that, play another. Sudden death just means a coin flip gives a huge advantage to one team.

A1 - I didn't have a dog in this race... sudden death in the very first OT is dumb.

like

Guessing it's not fair because your team lost?

like

College rule is better or just a 10 min OT.

like

I don't know... but my guess is that it has to do with the agreements with networks over the length of games. I agree though, it's bullshit.

like

You'd rather replace it with some horse turd like soccer? Let's just kick field goals back and forth from the 15 yard line till someone misses. Will be so exciting

like

Possible alternatives to current OT rules: 1) institute a field goal kickoff sudden death game inspired by the schoolyard classic "HORSE" 2) make the coin toss deciding 3) Rock Paper Scissors 4) vote by texting your favorite to 62773 5) reading chicken entrails / tea leaves 6) 6-legged turkey eating contest

like

@OP, it actually is very fair. People forget that defense is just as important/valuable of a part of the game. Basically if you give up a TD immediately you deserve to lose because defense is valued equally

like

What's not fair is that they don't kick extra points, would have one me 10k

Wow D1 - you need to take a chill pill - if you're this pissy about something you don't have a stake in, you must be a joy to be around when it really matters

And it's not sudden death because if you score a fg on the first drive the other team has a chance to score a fg to push to sudden death or could score a TD for the win

KPMG thank you for hitting the nail on the head 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 sick of people crying about the rule

I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?
