Who pays the small business owner? Let me tell my clients that I am taking a year of paternity leave, but I still expect them to pay me. Also, having a child is a choice. Nobody should be forced to pay you for making a choice that makes you unavailable to work. Finally, we all know a few guys that would impregnate anyone just to keep the no-work-gravy-train chugging. At least women put their bodies through hell to have a kid and need some time to recover. What do men need? A cigarette and a towel?
DISAGREE!!! Why does everyone always want the government to take care of them.... people need to step up and take care of themselves...
Only if the employer impregnated the woman.
Absoluey not. No worky--no payey
Strongly disagree... who pays for it?
Totally disagree. Get back to work, slacker.
We have a Financial advisor or something like it asking g this question. The answer is no. And you should surrender your license now. Stop stealing from people. It’s a violation of ethics. Heck, you should be suspended
I disagree with a year. But as a mom who is the sole working parent right now, our overall system is shit and 12 weeks should be a minimum. It takes that long just to get into a routine with a baby and assure that they are healthy and somewhat predictable. Plus the economic toll of turnover when parents have to leave work early (or altogether) to deal with issues for infants.
Packerland...well said!!
How about fathers?
Disagree. Not maternal/paternal leave should be forced on any business owner. If they want to they can offer it but definitely not mandated. You want time off and don’t have a flexible schedule take pto
A year of paid leave is absurd. That said, as a matter of public policy, our current system is poor. Working/productive parents have a natural disincentive to have children. Welfare programs pay more when you have more children, thus there’s an incentive for non-productive/welfare recipients to procreate. The end of days neareth.
