I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

Everyone forgets that IBM has 340,000 employees. The Consulting brand is just a blip in the overall business. The technology that is being developed esp. when we are talking about quantum computing is mind blowing. We are the reason why the US is #1 in super computing again. We helped build that computer. IBM is a technology company 1st, consulting maybe 2nd or 3rd.
IBM is objectively on fire right now. GBS is having MASSIVE layoffs to the point that we’re reducing office space in major GBS hubs. Stock price is down 40% in last 5 years and a new CEO seems imminent.
There’s a large ongoing exodus to other firms which I’ll be joining shortly.
Ask Watson
In comparison to GE
@ACN tell that to Ken Jennings
Looks like marketing written by ibm
No
1. IBM3 no need to link us to your marketing copy, those of us who have actually dealt with Watson know better
IBM3- instead of calling me a fool, why don’t you tell me some of these “examples.” Anderson Health got burned by IBM Watson marketing
Some units are, some aren’t. We are definitely not as great as the commercials. GBS is not doing well overall.
IBM has a lot of cool technology and a lot of smart people. Unfortunately, our marketing teams raise it to the power of ridiculous, and our GTM is just not strong enough. We drink way too much of our Kool-Aid.
It’s a marketing show, Watson still doesn’t have any successful practical use cases
Acc 1, wrong. Do some research, there are a ton of use cases that have been tested successfully. Get some knowledge about what you post before you make yourself look like a fool.
IBM3 trying to pretend like the implementations this far for Watson haven't been a dumpster fire
I can proudly say Watson in been one our most brightly burning dumpster fires. What we market as “Watson” or “Cognitive” often involves 0% machine learning or “AI”.
Damn this thread is savage. I would actually like big blue to get their act together....
Despite being a partner, most of our practice leads don’t recommend Watson to our clients over Google API.AI... I’m glad to see the marketing dollars are at least working internally IBM3. At the end of the day, does Watson have use cases? Sure. But does Watson’s use cases justify the millions of dollars of ads that they buy? Probably not
IBM3, it would be more helpful for you to explain or direct us to one of those use cases. To be fair I am not any more skeptical about Watson than any other AI/ML platform.
How was md Anderson with Watson???
I know someone who worked at Deloitte and IBM and they said the bonuses and raises are WAY higher at Deloitte. They were a top performer at IBM too. I’ve heard the patent division is profitable, but most of the other divisions aren’t growing and/or not profitable.
