The health implications are just the tip of the iceberg.

I think policymakers are more attuned to those consequences over the health consequences sadly.

Cat Friends, I am so sad. My 7 year old baby was diagnosed with arthritis in both albows today. He suddenly developed a bad limp. Yesterday he seemed to have weakness in his back legs and xray was done.
The radiologist determined that he has arthritis in both of his elbows (which was likely responsible for his initial forelimb lameness this past winter) and “sacralization” of his L7 vertebra (which is something he was born with and means that his L7 is essentially connected to his pelvis.

I’m 26 now but I want to have two kids around 35. What are some options? I may or may not have a partner then but I don’t want to base this on that. Thoughts? Is it expensive? Should I just get a girl pregnant (kidding...sort of)?

Need advice. 5 year old son who missed Kindergarten cut off is in Montessori program and having behavioral issues. We just moved to our new location over the summer, and he did the summer camp at the same school. He’s not listening to his teacher and disturbing his classmates. He’s been sent home, but now he acts up and goes to the teacher to ask if he can go home now. We’re struggling to figure out what to do. We’ve talked to pediatrician and have a referral for a counselor…. Cont

How's everyone doing with back to school and mental health? I'm too stubborn to break, but UUUGHHHH! Work is absolute hell with no relief in sight (but I'm glad to have a job!) & my child is starting a new school (in-person). So many emails and orientations, it's like being a lost kindergarten parent all over again! Plus a "mother's council" Zoom mtg @ 930 on a Thu AM?! Already super stressed & overwhelmed. Also lying about about not breaking, just haven't hit the wall of tears quite yet. Sigh.

I’m at the end of my rope when it comes to my husband. We’ve been together for 13 yrs. When we were dating he was really nice and easy going. We dated for 3 years and then got married. As soon as we got married he became very moody and short with me. We had a child and things got even worse. He was withdrawn and even moodier. I begged him to go to couples counseling but he refused. It got to the point I asked for a divorce, he begged me to try to work it out and asked to go to couples counseling.

Out of curiosity, is anyone else a single parent on here? I have 50/50 custody, but with all the school activities, on my nights alone I am making up time and working. Leaves little time for personal me time, let alone dating. At this point in my career, it’s not easy to just “coast” and a nanny is not an option. Anyone else in the same boat? Haven’t seen as many single parent executive women around.

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. Basically I feel like a token, and I don't know how to shift that idea while staying professional.
