Hello, everyone! I am new to fishbowl, the Healthcare field, and fairly new to my company. One of my primary goals, besides finding the highest quality talent to join our team, is to expand my network. If anyone here is willing to send me a LinkedIn connect request I would be very appreciative! It will be a mutual benefit, I assure you.

Finished interviewing for an ATS role at Microsoft Wednesday. The interviewers said they were recommending me but I haven’t gotten any feedback from the recruiter. I’m at PwC S& and in consulting I always got at least a verbal yes day of or next day after interviewing. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Do you get a verbal first or do they wait to have a contract?

This isn’t new. It keeps the big agencies open, which helps the overall network. Let’s be honest here. The only AOR accounts left in the industry are Pharma. Everything else is becoming project-based and it makes it next to impossible to run a big shop when there’s no consistency with scopes or hiring. And like anything else it’s not the agency that the client hires, but the people that will be on the brand if they win the account. That means big general agencies need people who have Pharma experience. For a long time it was the other way around, with pharma shops hiring from general agencies. Now it goes both ways
A lot of pharma accounts are going project based too, unfortunately. I work on a huge oncology account and it’s project based now :/
If a nonpharma agency pitches and wins, it’s usually their account.
it’s really hard to keep the lights on without a consistent and fat pharma check.
Part of it is that there are 90ish breast cancer drugs out there, 10+ RA drugs that advertise on TV, and on and on. Conflicts abound, and there are only so many good healthcare agencies out there (and don’t even get me started on the Havas/FCB/cdm/H&S fake conflict shops—honestly any client who thinks these are separate agencies operating independently of one another gets what they deserve).
Your options are go with a big network agency that can pull in specialists and deliver great creative, or go with a small fry like Centron and take your chances that you can dominate the relationship.
