March madness is done... wow
I mean, is the technology really that expensive anyways? Backup cameras became required a few years ago and I don’t think they necessarily resulted in a significant price increase
I think your math is all wrong. You were saying $1.7B and then $17B, but you make it out like it’s $17B for one fighter jet or something and that’s your fight against military expansion.
If it’s a $1.7B cost that is spread over 17 million cars, it’s still only $100 bucks to save kids’ lives. You probably paid $799 for “paint sealant”, get over it.
Absolutely fine
It would be logical that that technology is something that should be on child car seats. So only those that need it would have it
This proposed law is like gun control. Feel good legislation. I think it’s dumb.
Pwc1 fake news. Guns are illegal in nyc…no way they could be used in crimes
So this assumes that you won’t have kids and think you are better than everyone else would never be distracted. That being said - I have no issue with this. Safety is important to all - and if you think “it will never happen to me “ you are sadly mistaken

Ok finally OP says something I can agree with. The government is indeed stupid.
Will this also work for all the fur babies left in cars?
Not sure I follow your exact analysis? Other than you don't want the cost of the car increasing. Can you please explain in a reply where you have more room. Thx

My point about the shoe and cellphone is that there are other ways to combat the issue than to require the technology on every single car when such a small percentage actually need it.
How much is a child’s life worth? Please give us a dollar amount.

I’m not contributing to any deaths because I believe in personal accountability. It’s a parent’s responsibility to keep their children safe (I have 3 of my own). Should I pay $10 for every plastic bag so they all can come with a device that prevents children from putting them on their heads? No, parents need to keep plastic bags away from children. Parents need to do something that will prevent them from forgetting their children in the car (like my shoe or cellphone example). There are targeted ways to approach the issue than requiring everyone to pay for something that is needed by so few.
