Brand to brand banter should definitely be a community management tactic
This is so awesome! Said nobody outside our industry. Ogilvy is wincing in his grave.
ogilvy loved measurement, so he’d love social.
Not pictured: 143 total layers of approvals.
Took a week for CFA to respond originally!
And Arby’s chickened out.
I know it’s hard say this is amazing creative, and it won’t land you a cocktail at Shutters. But brands have a real-time voice. And people do fun stuff with it. Well worth respecting and awarding.
delicious branded content, slop it into my trough yes please sir, mmmmm so good this is what we come to the office for
Vayner people really live up to their reputation
This is what advertising has become.

shout out to black Twitter for sparking this debate
Kudos to whichever PR agency has the US Poultry & Egg Association. A chicken beef? Well played.
Man what we do is really stupid.
disingenuous, hacky “y’all” use is on the rise 👀
southern studies? haha. that's hilarious.
This isn’t good copywriting
Everyone's trying to get a piece.
Everything about this is depressing.

This is what advertising has become, so sad...
I really find it interesting that many people choose to flat out discredit social. I know first hand that it can be challenging/leave you feeling empty, but it can also be insanely rewarding when done right. Same can be said for all other mediums based on the person you ask and the type of work that gets them excited to go to work. TV can be terrible and radio can be rough too. However when any of them are done right, it can really do amazing things for all parties involved.
I understand that work across other mediums might require more effort and some require far more talent than some viral content we see on social platforms, but when a ton of people across social talk about a campaign that I worked on, that shit is going on on my resume ASAP.
All fair points and appreciate the response. What’s interesting is that people still wanna see brands tweet at one another and while it’s questionable from a creative sense, it works.
How long until your CD says “...but whats OUR Popeyes chicken sandwich idea!?”
