There’s been a rise in Diversity equity and inclusion trainings. My experience with these has always been terrible. How has your experience been? Anyone have good experiences? If yours has been terrible too, what should they have done differently?

I'm torn. Just like consulting, sometimes you need to fake it until you make it. If they don't start with something, how will we ever get anything?

But on the other hand, we're at the point where people say things like bring your whole authentic self to work. But what they really mean is bring your mainstream self to work. And maybe there are a few things that are just outside of mainstream but have shown up in music or TV that are also okay.

They're just throwing things to see what signals most lousy that they care. My only hope is that we continue building off of these things until they are impactful and they are real.

Hey fellow fishies! There have been some questions lately about men lurking in this bowl. I’ve reached out to Fishbowl and a rep reassured me that only users who identify as women are allowed access to this bowl. If any men have misrepresented their gender in order to gain access, please flag the user and/or reach out to a bowl leader or Fishbowl support asap! Definitely want to make sure this space remains safe and private so we can continue to share freely 🙏

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

ADVISOR FUEL - BEWARE OF THEM

I've an extremely unpleasant experience with this company. We sent them a legal notice and my lawyer even lodged a compliant with the Florida Attorney General but in vein. These people don't bother about legal notices as they know most advisors don't have time and wherewithal to go to litigation.

Due to limitation of space I can't write in detail, but please contact me if you like to know my entire experience with ADVISOR FUEL. Don't fall prey to their tactics.

I searched and i’m incredulous we haven’t had this discussion yet. What’s your position on LIV. I think it’s a league mostly of has beens and never was’s designed to stroke Greg Norman’s ego and personal vendetta. I have no problem if you want to take the money to play events no one will care about and won’t get world ranking points, but don’t think you can have it both ways.
