Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?
Does the title “senior associate” mean anything?

"The Committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian effort to hack computer networks and accounts affiliated with the Democratic Party and leak information damaging to Hillary Clinton and her campaign for president. Moscow's intent was to harm the Clinton Campaign, tarnish an expected Clinton presidential administration, help the Trump Campaign after Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee, and undermine the U.S. democratic process."

There’s a famous quote, often mis-attributed, which is “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people”. H.L. Mencken.
Most people will believe anything. That’s why ads work. Now if you want to get sinister, ask yourself why that is and who has a vested interest in keeping things that way. The reason people are stupid is because our eduction system is broken (any education system that uses multiple choice to judge your understanding of anything is inherently broken). Ask yourself, why is education broken? Who is voting to defund public schools, who is voting to keep teacher salaries (and by extension the quality of teachers) low? Who is looking to minimize international competition? Who is happy for college degrees to cost 2-3 years of the average household income and restrict access to it. In other words, who is trying to keep the American people stupid?
Here’s a truth. When people learn to think for themselves and figure out they’ve been screwed for 200 years, they won’t be wearing MAGA hats and voting for felons, they’ll be looking for a French style revolution.
...sorry, slow day! 😃
Americans apparently were influenced to vote by a racist conman spouting gibberish, so yep I would agree we have bigger problems. :\
I know for certain that these ads influenced my parents. They shared this stuff all the time. They were already conservative, but they were used as the conduit to spread misinformation.
Even if minds weren't changed (which is hard to prove either way), they certainly sowed a distrust in all information.
Ooooh "Russians".
These "attacks on media trust" ( by which people really mean "corporate news outlets") wouldn't stick if they didn't keep running false stories.
For example: remember that story about how the Russians had hacked the power grid and the proof of them working with wikileaks?
Both were completely false stories based on "anonymous sources" that were quietly retracted after the initial buzz died down.
They want credibility and keep shooting themselves in the foot on the way there.
Agreed. How did we get to the point where so many Americans are this woefully illiterate in civics, consuming information, and general critical thinking?
And 90% news is negative on Trump.
Think of it this way: the ads reached 146million people. If only 1/10 of 1% or one out of a thousand people had thier vote affected that is still 146,000 people. The 2016 election came down to around 80,000 votes in 3 targeted swing states.
And how we got to people being that dumb?
Single parents and schooling where we never tell them they're saying dumb shit because "self esteem" is more important than being smart.
Sheep who believe what ever they read was the intended outcome of our education system(which is inspired by the Prussian system used to raise kids to serve their monarchy) so don't complain too much that you're reaping the fruits that those you worship have sown.
Wait...
People believe everything which is why they're skeptical of the news they read?
My brain hurts...
That statistic is just confirmation bias fuel. Supporters see it as "proof" the reporting is biased. Haters see it as "proof" that 90% of the things he does are negative when in reality this static proves nothing in isolation.
Y’all have a very lose if any understanding of heuristics. Brush up on that and you’ll not only understand why the Russian ads worked but why people are “dumb”. You and me included.
Investmentbankingassociate always rolling in with ridiculous sources and hyperbole. Can’t take a thing they say seriously
Morgan Stanley 1 - the education system is broken, but let’s just thrown more money at the problem. Sure, That will fix it. Of course we don’t have that money, so we’ll need to increase taxes in order to guarantee pensions to underperforming teachers. You must be the product of a leftist public education...
Have you read muller indictment? The indicted Russian individuals and firms spent 8 dollars in Wisconsin, similar amounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Hillary Clinton spent 50 millions on Facebook alone. I guess none of them in these states.
Wasn't that before Facebook revised thier impact numbers way way up though?
Sorry my memory was wrong . It was $54 in Wisconsin. Still pretty magic compared to what Hillary spent. What is the hell is impact number?
Number of individuals who were exposed to the ads.
For $54, any number is good.
IBA - thanks for sharing a great examples of stupidity. I’d be further swayed if you shared the retractions
K1 where did you find that number? The indictment I’m looking through (Document 1 Filed 02/16/18) doesn’t have that number anywhere. The only number I can see listed says the defendant’s monthly budget for their interference operation was $1.25mm
