This is also me...

You both are amazing with such good BMI in consulting, especially BCG hours

5’6” 150lbs. Sleep 8-9 hrs per night. Mid 30s. Try and average 50-55 hrs/week. Some weeks I surge and it doesn’t balance right. Invested in a home gym 4 years ago after almost burning out and leaving consulting. Gained weight since, but healthy weight. Healthy sleep and fitness schedule allows you to operate at your best physically, but also mentally.

5’8, 125 lbs, sleep 6/7 hours (that is normal for me), I put in a solid 4 hours of work a day and whine about it to anyone willing to listen actually even people who aren’t willing to listen I share anyway

I’ve rarely seen an obese consultant. A few folks may be a bit big but veryyyy few would be considered downright fat. There are far more consultants who are skin and bones than are big, in my experience at least

12 inches, very heavy Usually 69 minutes a night but sometimes with a pill up to 7 hours (420 minutes)

Wow I feel personally attacked LOL

Is it easier to take vacation in transactional vs lit? I’m in lit and because our cases can take years, we don’t get coverage for vacations beyond our case team and we’re expected to wait for a lull to take time off. But just when one case gets quiet, another heats up and I can never find a time when all my cases are quiet. I’m wondering if this is different in corporate since it’s easier to onboard people for coverage. Specifically interested in specialist groups but any answers are welcome!

What month is promotion month at different firms?

I’m new to the firm. My third project my manager was very hands off. He’s wants to have a discussion with me about my performance. He did not give me any support to work with; even when I asked! And my direct manager agrees with him, but it was my third week. What to do? I feel like I’m going to say something crazy. Any advice?

All- I have some friends who work at Bain and the more I hear about the place, the more I want to eventually work there. The issue is that my credentials aren’t the best. I will have an MBA from a T15 college in about 2 years time, I have 6 years of experience in analytics consulting, mostly at small firms and startups. I guess I wanted to ask the golden question, do I really have a chance at getting into Bain? If so, how should I plan this out?

I’m pregnant!? And I’m getting a job offer tomorrow. I need to know a million things like their insurance packages (I really want to keep my Kaiser insurance) and whether they offer paid leave before the one year FMLA mark. What else do I need to know? How do I ask all this stuff? How concerned should I be about disclosing my pregnancy considering I just tested positive, and I barely know these people?

In my first year of big law and hours at my sweat shop firm are already getting to me. Recently got an email from a recruiter promoting a fully remote lit associate position with a 1600 hrs reqmt at a less than 50 atty law firm and essentially what is old Cravath scale pay. Does anyone have experience with a move like this? Too good to be true? I was under the impression that positions with low billables for big law (or close to big law) pay don’t really exist…
