Things always move slow here at EY from my experience. My former offer came 6 mths after my verbal, with constant push from my end, it drove up the salary amount too. When I was about to take another opp., they pulled through just in time w. $30k above original offer lol...

Highly doubtful the HR person would have any influence here, nor would they want to work against you unless you did something extremely offensive. They are likely holding on another candidate they prefer over you or they have lost leadership approval to actually make the hire
There was definitely an approval hold up I had been told. But HR says that's been cleared. They keep promising about getting two other approvals (PI and FSO) to make things happen.
Follow up: HR responded to my follow up thank you email. Here's the excerpt.
// I do understand and I do not think you were being pushy. I canât tell you how badly Iâd like to get this done. I will follow up before the weekend with an update. Thanks and have a great day!//
Still a lot of promises..
Sounds like hr hands are tied , but they seem to be sincere. Seems theyâre responsive overall. Guess put it on the back burner and pursue the other opp
Follow up: HR emailed me today (5/3) confirming that they have the second (PI) approval. Now we're waiting on the last one (FSO). Until next week..
Follow-up: with the last approval, HR responded with no update today (5/10). Says to keep me posted early next week! đ¤
Verbal offer made March 21. Til today they have been telling me that they are working on 2 more approvals. I am in a middle of a cross country move and I think I just botched it up by pushing a little more. HR person came back saying that I should probably also consider moving forward with other offers, if I have any. I sent him a follow up thank you email for pushing for me. Any other advice or suggestions you guys have? đ
I was polite but made sure he understood my reason for urgency. He actually got back to my thank you email saying he didn't think I was being pushy and that he understands and that he will keep following up w me! Wish me luck! âď¸
Thatâs so stressful. I donât understand why HR isnât more understanding that people need to know if theyâve gotten a job, especially if it entails a move
Until you have something, you got nothing.
Definitely pursue other offers. You might even find something better
On the plus side, I think EY taking so long gives you a lot of leverage. If I were you, I would definitely ask for even more time between offer and start date to account for move and rest.
