Dear Applicant,
Due to a system error we erroneously sent rejection emails to candidates that are still under consideration. We will be in touch shortly to discuss the next steps in your application process,
Sincerely,
Global Director of Human Resources

I am interested in what’s your next move for Chase?
- Just ignore and let it be
- report to hiring and blacklist
- invite him to the next round
I forwarded to recruiting as an FYI but otherwise just ignored it
Here’s a fun thread to explore with Chase:
“Considering the courage you displayed, we think you might be a better fit for xyz role, typically with 400-500K total compensation. Would you be interested in exploring this further”
Likely response from Chase: “maybe”?
“Sweet dude. Duck you”. (Obv not on email, but on the final call?)
That would be cold if you made it believable to see how they respond if you offer them a job

Wait. Was that sent to you?
That person deserves to be blacklisted.

C3, I never claimed to be important. Doesn’t mean being a jackass is okay
Chase seems like the type of dude that yolo’d his savings into Doge at 0.70 and then panic sold at 0.38….
Senior management written all over him
Nah. Our boy Peter did it with the tact and class of a true GoAT and in many cultures his approach actually still tends to work in your favor.
Chase did it like a sore loser which is the worst way to lose. Just not good stuff. No sir.

🤣🤣I always wanted to do something like that
My dude is living the dream
Interesting interaction. I think I’m most curious about the hiring process up to that point.
Scenario 1: I’m imagining someone that was early in the hiring process and didn’t think saying this would have any repercussions.
Scenario 2: I’m imagining someone who thought the offer was in the bag, turned down lesser offers with the same line, now wishing that he didn’t.
Scenario 3: I’m imagining he reviewed all the notes he took from his senior year of college where he rigorously studied Billions and House of Lies because he thinks if fortune really favors the bold he’s set.
See if he’ll take an unpaid internship. Who knows, could be the move.
Regardless of the scenario, I can’t help but wonder if his job search has been harder because he makes rash decisions like this or if he makes rash decisions like this because he has struggled so much to find an organization that accepts his email tourettes. Either way if you’ve watched Tenet you know causes and effects are one in the same and nothing matters.
Dude just shhhh
I got a “The team was very impressed with you! I’d love to hop on a call to discuss next steps.” Only to get rejected on the call. BROOOOOO. This.
Assuming he is anywhere in the same position that I am - I could have done this yesterday.
Received a “let’s move to the next step” from one recruiter on the thread with a follow up from the other recruiter 10 minutes later expressing their apologies and that they were not moving forward.

Is there a meme for that episode of South Park where Randy Marsh carries his balls around in a wheelbarrow?
There is now
Entitled Gen Z can't believe he is not handed a job. Boo hoo.

OP - what happened next?
Sent it to recruiting and some friends, posted here, had a good laugh and moved on to the weekend.
