I was recently hired into a BL firm as a midlevel from small law and starting in three weeks. For some reason starting to get nervous reading all the posts on here that the firm will pull my offer bc of impending economic downturn; however, the other side is that I was offered just a few weeks ago and the recession talk was already going so imagine they would already have considered this when making the decision to hire me. Should I be concerned more than usual?

I recently graduated college last year and am trying to pursue certifications to help build up my resume. I currently hold an AWS SAA certification and Azure AZ -900. I am looking to try and obtain the CISSP next. Is there something else I should start with before diving into CISSP or should I direct my studying and focus in that direction?

Does anyone have any tips or recs to wean off of daily ambien use? I have severe insomnia to the point that I will not fall asleep at all if I don’t take ambien — sometimes even so I struggle with sleep. I have no luck with melatonin and “sleep hygiene” exercises don’t cut it either. Feel at a loss because I can’t lose productivity at work if I don’t sleep at all during the prior night. Any help is much appreciated!

Do you think it’s best to do your first mock GMAT totally cold? I’m fine on verbal but there are some quant questions I am completely lost on, haven’t done some of this stuff for nearly a decade.

Kinda worried I’m going be discouraged if my mock is hot garbage, even though I’m a good studier and good test taker :/

Tips from anyone that’s done HBS interviews so far?

Hi all, European living in the Netherlands here. I’ve been doubting whether an MBA would be of any benefit for me, hopefully you could help me in this respect. Below my situation:

LLM (JD) in Tax Law / 8+YoE @ Deloitte / Currently working at a mega US Multinational/ Want to climb to upper management level (two/three levels below C-suite) in the coming 5 years.

MBA would perhaps be good for my personal experience but worry that i could spend my time better at performing at my job.

Did anybody apply to or attend dual degree programs? Any thoughts on SAIS / SIPA in particular?

I got into Columbia for my MBA but also got a 140k offer at MetLife in their investments division, what do people think is better?

I’m a 27 year old guy with around 150k in savings and not sure what I wanna do but I’m super ambitious and want to do something in the investing world. Also I went to Baruch for my undergrad.

I’m already working at a tier-two consulting firm doing M&A integration work and want to keep developing in the same arena. Is it worthy to get a one-year MBA with sponsorship then come back to the same firm?
