I think it depends on your group. Half my group lives away from my city and would’ve had to travel and get a hotel regardless of where my party was. Also have your friends been to 100 bachelorettes recently or is yours the first for some of them? And what are their budgets like? If these are friends that already love travel / girls weekends it might not be a big deal
Charleston is an absolute blast too, savannah or Asheville are similar vibes.
Sedona is gorgeous as well! And park city utah!
For context: we're also fairly young (23) so some are still in graduate school or just saving money in general
I know my schedule was more flexible in grad school (if attendance isn’t mandatory or they get so many excuses absences). So maybe you can get cheaper flights and hotel rooms by planning something during the work-week.
You could do an anonymous google quiz (guys what is this called I forget) and get peoples preferences! Ultimately it should be what you enjoy.

Will they also have to travel for the wedding? Because that might be something to consider as well. If they have to travel far twice, it might be asking a lot of them
1-2 hr drive is my new bachelorette party radius. It’s your party so plan whatever you want but just be transparent about costs and plans and be ready for people to politely decline
It’s totally know your group consideration! It sounds like local and inexpensive def makes sense for your group - but the location doesn’t make the party, the people do.
I think you should get a consensus of the group. Some of them may not be able to travel for both the party and the wedding if it isn’t a few nights before. Get their thoughts
People pick exotic locations so that people do something “different” or “special.” But you can definitely achieve that locally if you spend the time to research/plan it!
Sounds like you should definitely plan a local trip since budget is a concern for many people.
