No, Lisbon needs a few days. Enjoy Madrid or do a day trip to Toledo (love it) or something around Madrid instead if you are already very familiar with Madrid.
Nope. Too far and a day trip isn’t enough time
Segovia is another traditional old town day trip similar to Toledo, and I’ve had some friends take trips up to the mountains to do a little hiking as well so that’s an option too! Lisbon should be saved for a longer time frame. Also, I haven’t done this myself but I know there’s a 2.5 hour train from Madrid to Seville that would be worth checking out, it’s beautiful there!!
Agreed. I lived in Madrid for a few months, and there are not a ton of day trip options. Seville or Valencia if you take the right train are both great options.
FYI. Madrid was a great place to live, but not a ton of sightseeing options. Could probably complete everything in a day if needed.
I believe Avila and Salamanca make for great 1-day trips from Madrid as well. Lisbon requires more than just one day.
Agree with others here. You could do Lisbon in three days if you really wanted to, but very tough to do anything meaningful in a day (that’s worth the trek to it from Spain)
