I’m currently in school online, I work full time, and I’m a single mom to a toddler. Best advice I was given when I started debating returning to school: “you can start now, and be done in 2-3 years, or you can wait to be sure and 2-3 years later, you still aren’t in school”. If you want to do it, I say go for it!

I have a degree in accounting and want to go back for either a masters in HR or just another bachelors degree in HR. Cannot decide

Hi SP’s! Anyone here have experience with telling their child about the divorce and how he will never have certain things (like daddy sleeping over or mommy sleeping over) etc? I really need some guidance right now. Feeling really broken as my son (5) is constantly battling his feelings of wanting to be with mommy vs daddy. He often tells us, “when I’m with mommy, I miss daddy. When im with daddy, I miss mommy!” And would often cry bc he can’t have us both. We try to co-parent and be in (cont)

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?

I am looking for a new job with around 2 YOE.
Will recruiter look at my education scores?
Due to various reasons messed up my 12th exams but did well in my 10th and BTech.
Asking because I lost out on attending job interviews with good companies during my college placements due to elegibility caps on 12th score.

Hi all, I’m looking to re-enter the workforce. I had to take a career pause @ the beginning of the pandemic because I had a child. I have 5+ years of experience in life science (bench top, pathology in a hospital, startup, and most recently clinical research). I’d like to make a slight pivot into a health informatics, clinical data or data analytics position but I’m also open to non clinical research positions like regulatory/quality assurance etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA

Is anyone living on different floors with ~1 year old? Does it work, PROs, CONs? Our master bedroom is upstairs. There are two bedrooms downstairs so I always thought we’d use one of those rooms as our bedroom so we’re on the same floor with baby but it seems husband wants to stay upstairs. And he’s using one of the rooms downstairs as a home office. We bought this house so cannot move in the short term.

I work remotely for a series A start up, TC is about $115K + equity. I work approximately 30hrs a week in a busy week, only meet with my boss and team once a week. I just got an offer for $140K + 4X the amount of equity I currently have… however, not sure it’s worth letting go of the incredible freedom and work life balance I currently have. Any thoughts to help make the decision?
PS: I love our product, but not as passionate about the other startup

Physician Assistant salaries in the Chicago Area? I’ve practiced at an AMC for 5.5 years and make around 116k salary. Outpatient surgical sub specialty, but the same salary “formula” as my previous role in urgent care in the same system. Another AMC offered me 124k 9 months ago for a similar role - which I turned down due to some red flags during interviews. Recently got a 10k retention bonus when I voiced my intent to leave but still feel underpaid as I’m literally keeping my practice afloat.
