My wife is pregnant and I cannot wait for the 4 months off.

Haha! Thanks!! It’s actually our third, but the first time I work somewhere with parental leave! Super excited. I’ve always had to burn PTO and was out for <2 weeks. We’re in our mid-30s so probably last kid and gonna milk that time off
My coworker adopted a 16 year old and went to Europe for 2 months

And then have to take care of that person for 18 years?! For a few weeks off? No way

Issa joke
Lol having a baby and taking time off to take care of that baby is not a vacation. In any way, shape, or form. You will be working just as hard and more sleep deprived.
I read a study a few years ago about how with the increase in paternity benefits less women took multiple maternity leaves less. Aka this means when fathers became semi more involved in raising kids family's had less kids.

If I chain relationships together and impregnate a different woman every 16 weeks, can I live on paternity leave forever?

M1 ruining the plan with their logic. You could declare Chapter 11 after every instance of being sued for child support. But this will ruin your credit score
What is the burden of proof for paternity leave? 🤔

I haven't had any kids yet at my current firm, so I don't know what the policy here is, but I had two kids while at a previous firm.
I didn't have to show any proof, just told my immediate boss that we were expecting a few months in advance, then let her know when I was taking the paternity leave. The last kid was 5 weeks early, so there was definitely a last minute scramble at work, but still no proof needed. I did send her and my teams pictures of the kiddos at the hospital, so that might have forestalled any documentation requests, though.
omg. I know it’s a joke, but please let me reinforce that maternity/paternity leave is not a vacation 😂 unless you have full time, round the clock hired help, it is not easier than work

Yeah, my employer recently changed maternity/paternity leave to parental leave and standardized it at 16 weeks, that's totally why we're having another kid!

I turned down a job offer a couple weeks ago solely due to the parental leave policy at the other company. They offered 3 weeks of paid leave to fathers, which is nothing compared to what my current firm offers.
As others have said, stop propagating this. It’s certainly not a vacation. Amazing experience but I found it challenging in different ways and more tiring than my day job.
Before and after taking it I had to deal with partners (parents and non parents) like you who thought it was a vacation and made super derogatory comments that just demonstrated their complete disconnection with being a parent.

My performance mentor recently went on paternity leave. Had reached out to him in the middle for an emergency request and he responded “This is way easier to resolve than a crying baby. Thanks for the distraction.”
Seems reasonable. Could also look at getting COVID-19 and a puppy for a brief stint to see if you'll really like it.

Adopt a 17 year old instead
Ideally with an athletic scholarship
