Hi Fishes, I cleared technical and MCQ round at Accenture. And got a mail stating i have been selected for HR round. Later the same day a hr called and asked me to upload all documents and asked my expected CTC and stuff. Earlier in portal it was showing interviewing , now it shows review or pending and has a message ' we regret to inform that you experience does not align with req, we will contact if anything comes up' , what does this mean. How can they put something like this?

With no GMAT and a 3.3 from a non-target school, I don’t think any of those schools should be on your radar…you’re probably better off continuing to work based on your WE.
More like 750+. You have a below average gpa so you’ll likely need an above average gmat.
You've got some interesting pieces, but it's not really clear how they all fit together.
Folks are going to tell you to get a GMAT of X. they aren't wrong per se-you're targeting the most selective schools with a below-par GPA, so your test score will do a lot to shape your outcomes-but I think that's putting the cart before the horse. especially for someone like you, the story you tell, and how well you tell it, is going to be decisive.
You seem to be weighing up options, and that's fine. Not everyone knows (or should know) what they want for the rest of their life, even at an M7. But you're right to highlight that the MBA is a major, and costly, investment-probably north of half a million dollars in your case, factoring in opportunity costs, for several disparate career paths (some of which may be attainable from where you are today). The fundamental question to ask yourself is "is there a door I want to open, but can't without the degree?" take some time, but that will clarify a lot.
Thanks for this thoughtful reply. I appreciate this a lot! The question you asked is important and that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I don’t plan on leaving my current company for 2-3 more years, so that buys me some time to figure out what I might want to do long-term / study for the GMAT/build my application if I decide b-school is the right step forward. What I find most surprising about the answers above are that for the most part, I’m unsurprised that they were stated. I look at the current students enrolled at the aforementioned schools and I see that there are a lot that are trying to pursue areas of business that I’ve already dabbled in - corporate strategy, strategy / product at startups, vc, etc. So while I might not have the best academic profile, I have already exited a startup, taken a leadership-path at another tech company, and helped deploy ~$15M in capital via my growth equity firm. Back to the question you posed. I think the answer is, as always, it depends. My current company is well respected without our space and given my team’s collective network, I think I can exit to more reputable growth equity firm without an MBA. I don’t think it’s possible for me to exit to a tier 1 mega-fund like Tiger Global/KKR or VC like Greylock or Sequoia with or without an MBA. I do think that an MBA from HSW could help push the envelope - I don’t discount that. I’ve kept Tech banking (Qatalyst, Allen and Company, boutiques, etc.) in the back of my mind as a backup plan which would require an MBA, but like I said, it’s a backup. You asked a good question and I’m going to continue thinking about it!
26m, 4 YOE, Caucasian. 3.3 GPA from Wisconsin 🤦♂️
- 2 years corporate strategy at IBM/Cisco
- 1 year at startup that was acquired by LinkedIn as 15th employee
- 6 months at a growth equity firm (the firm was simultaneously raising it’s first fund and deploying capital through SPVs
- 1 year on strategy/Corp dev team at series D ai/ml unicorn startup
I would prob wait to see how everything plays out with my current company. Really not sure what to do or how to plan life.
Haven’t taken GMAT. Exit Ops from here could be VC/growth equity, another startup, make my own startup.
Need a really strong GMAT score and also more concrete work experience. Right now it's all over the place and I don't see a built out path or story. You said yourself you don't really know what you want to do, I feel like that needs to get sorted out first before applying.
