Based on this info, no. But there’s a lot more to leaving a job than the #.
Going back to school for an MBA and having more stable hours is also a big reason why I’m considering an out. I also really do not like audit work. Thanks for the input!
I accepted the position and I did think of that but getting the bonus wasn’t worth me losing this specific opportunity
Left as audit 2, made 64 at EY and now make lil more then 100 at a bank /finance position so no def not
What percentage increase would you expect
I think for your salary that is a good % increase. However, why don't you wait a few months until you promote to senior where you will get probably a 15% raise or so. then you will be near 60k, so you can request another 10-15% on top of that. However, as mentioned above, the money isn't everything. But I would not jump for that if salary is the only thing on your mind
I think the broader point is that in 1 year you'll be in the 60s anyway, as an upper senior you'll be in the 80s and as a new manager 100s - all without doing really anything as the probation cycle is pretty automatic. In industry, unless you aggressively self-manage your career, there's no way you'll get the same raises and progression in the same time period.
So no, a small bump that you're going to get anyway to move into industry isn't worth it.
I’m not sure if that’s the case in my locality with the salaries. Anyway, I agree I just have to weigh if I’m happy here (which I thoroughly dislike busy season) or not. Appreciate the input!
