It will be the best time to find a deal on an apartment, many buildings are offering 2 months free. You can find studios for as low as 2k in Manhattan. Restaurants, stores, museums, large gyms are open; sports and theatre are not. Since bars are not open yet, it won’t be as easy to talk to random people but you can get on dating apps! You can sign up for events and gym and meet people that way. Just know NYC has a nyc local tax, it will be a couple extra thousand a year on top of federal and state.

I barely saved money living in Jersey between the transit (especially if you take the ferry - I worked downtown) and having to own a car. The major difference was I could have my own apartment in Jersey vs sharing a flex one bedroom in downtown Manhattan (flex = building a temporary wall to make it a two bedroom).

Living in Jersey was awful and not worth it.

Following bc in the exact same position OP. Im worried the city might be dead for a while😒

Some neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens are seeing rising cases and increased restrictions due to poor compliance with mask/distancing requirements, but overall stuff is happening here. Outdoor dining has been extended indefinitely and restaurants in most places can have indoor dining at 25% capacity.

It’s not like pre-Covid, but it’s still New York.

We’ll be fine. It may take a few years to get close to 100%, but I wouldn’t worry about New York at the moment.

Just got my eyebrows threaded here on the west coast and when I left the shop there were five women in it— a Nepali women, an Indian woman, a Korean , a white lady and a black lady. I loved the diversity so much haha. All were customers waiting in line except the proprietor :)

I was recently interviewed for a position at PayTM for DevOps Engineer, and was required to solve a simple search DS/Algo question on Python. After that, I was asked to optimise it's complexity and talk on it further. The interview revolved around using operators (not covered by a standard CKA exam afaik), dangling images reaping automation and ACL/SG on AWS. Just wanted to know if this is an expected format of interview for this position, since it was my first one! YOE = 2

How well do your coworkers know you? My gf low-key hates that I never talk about her at work and keep my personal life guarded. In contrast, my gf (who doesn't work in law) spends time socially with her coworkers outside of work and they talk to each other about their personal lives. I think socializing makes it harder to do my job - less time spent billing, harder to keep good boundaries, etc.
