Thinking about New Years vacation... open to anywhere in the world, where would you recommend and why?

I have working at the same brokerage firm for the last 27 years. I make $27 per hour with no annual bonus and I was just told I get no paid time of or sick leave. The “manager” was giving me 5 days of PTO to be “nice”. I have a series 7 and 63. Been licensed since 2000. Work 6 hours a day, which, btw, is only one hour less than the firm is open. Am I being swindled??

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

I left a very high paying position for better work-life balance and I'm regretting it. I was at 165k and dropped to 105k but with unlimited PTO and total WFH. In some ways it's better, but I have to admit I made the decision in haste. What would you do? Should I jump ship again?

Deloitte fishes, question on sign on bonus payback. If I ask for it to be deducted from my PTO payout; do you know if my PTO payout is first taxed and then the remaining is used to deduct the sign on bonus or the gross PTO amount is used for deduction?

Hi everyone, I want to do a sense check on my paycheck and taxes.

I am a staff 2 in tech consulting at EY in Chicago with 1.5 YOE. Current base salary is $91.2k and with RACs etc I am right around $95k. I contribute $250/month to my 401k which EY matches. My total comp according to the Better Me dashboard is ~$105k

However, my take home each month after taxes is ~$2.4k. The ADP app tells me that 32.5% goes to taxes and my gross pay is 67.5%.

This just doesn’t seem right…anyone help explain?

I predict that for the future Workday will have a difficult time deploying for small and medium enterprise customers at lower price points. Most of the firms that did these types of deployments only made money towards the tail end through more lucrative support contracts but take a look at how many of them sold themselves in recent months or had layoffs (CS, Sierra-Cedar, Alchemy).

As attrition is all time high in GDS (I am sure about Account Management atleast as part of it) and I am getting some really tempting offers. One fine day my skip manager called up and asked about my plans and promised me to promote in next cycle and give a very decent hike if I stop looking oubut there is a catch that she promised same things to all other team members who have resigned (1/3 of team has resigned already).
