Exploring options in internal wholesaling. Have a second round interview for a PM role next week — Does anyone know what the interview process/expectation is like between levels? @For example, you’re interviewing for a lower level, are the interview questions “easier” or is there a different quality of answer expected? Same question for higher levels. And full transparency, I know the questions are never truly “easy”, but curious what the difference is, if any. Thanks! Google

Sharing my interview experience with JP Morgan Chase India: I gave 3 rounds of interview for a VP position spending total of 3 hours including a coding test of 1 hour as part of 3rd round. The panel was from U.S. and they appeared very interested at every stage. However, as soon as I finished the 3rd round, they went silent. As per my self assessment, I performed well in the coding round. However, when I followed up I was told that they are considering an internal candidate for that position. JPMorgan Chase

I actually know an alum from my school that did just this. He quit being a lawyer, got some silent partners, and manages now 2 of his own bars. Every time I see him he looks happy. He also said his legal background helped him with contracts, real estate, meetings, hiring. You name it. Our legal skills are quite transferrable. Good luck!
Is this NYC? Worked for V10?
How much experience do you have running a business / bar? If you’re not too terribly experienced, I’d hire a trustworthy GM. You can learn from them and eventually take over one day when you’re tired of your day job or involve them as a partner going forward.
If you’ve never managed or run a bar/restaurant you should hire someone with experience doing so. Be an hands-on owner for sure, but get the place off to a good start.
Second what JLC1 said. I am in a family of restaurant/bar owners. Hard but rewarding work in a different way. There are many days I fantasize about quitting the BL grind and putting my energy into growing the businesses!
