I do my best work right before PTO. Primary motivation is not to leave a pile of shit for the person covering for me.

Got in a spat with my SO. He didn’t want to wake up to drop me to the airport at 330am and said it was unreasonable that I was asking that of him. He helped arrange a taxi service (we’re on vacation). I am still pretty miffed that he thinks he’s in the right to avoid being inconvenienced. I woulda woken up and taken him and it’s not about saving dollars. Sometimes you show love by being willing to be inconvenienced. F here fwiw

How many days of PTO do you take? I’m a second year partner and have struggled to step away for more than a couple of days at a time. I take around 15 days total for the year. This is a mentality carried over from being a senior manager and working constantly to sell and build a ledger to make partner. My team has doubled in size and ledger continues to grow. I fear burnout with pressure to keep pace of growth no additional incentive to work this hard because of equal sharing comp model.

I fear I will get beaten for this comment. But the positive message from Mitch on Tuesday seems to have caused some very highly paid people a lot of angst. This is a demonstrable reinvestment of the vacation $, and how well we are all doing. No one is living on the breadline be pleased that Mitch and the leadership have secured this. What will be will be.

My ex-husband told me he's taking our son on a vacation and going to the same places he and I went before we were married. (Note: We're both remarried with one additional child each. It just feels weird.)
