Do it after so you can get paid for statutory holidays

like

Yeah wait until beginning of January.

Ugh I’m in this boat. My job offer starts 1/4 so I’m putting mine in today but was hoping to get the holidays...

like

Same

Depending on what state you’re in I believe, but some states require an employee’s last day to be a working day and not a holiday/day off/PTO. If such is the case, makes sense to push your last day to the day after the holidays end.

Hmmm where can we find this out??

When would your last day be?

1/11

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Hello, I am a new grad with a doctorate in OT. I just got an offer for a job working at a private school. The offer is 58K with benefits. 15 days PTO. Do you guys think I can negotiate the salary to 70K, which based on my research is the average pay for my level of experience and education? Or is that too much to ask?

Looking for a new position to start in Jan 2023. Timing is mainly to account for bonus and end of year vacation time. 7+ YOE federal consulting and another 6 YOE in various IT roles. If you have a position that you are hiring for that has a timeline to start in early 2023, I’m open to talking now and seeing if I can’t firm up an opportunity with a delayed start. Project Management, Data/Analytics, Strategic Planning are my primary experience areas. Remote friendly also a huge plus. Thanks!

Quitting before finalizing offers?

I’m at post onsite and negotiation stage at a couple places but it may take another month or 2 due to either hiring freezes or general slow processes.

I want to quit now to go on vacations that I held off during prep. Does it make much difference when I negotiate offers? Like if my upcoming unvested RSU would be (partially) matched, and they find out I quit somehow, is it no longer matched? Other potential snags?

Already burned most of my PTO interviewing.

Currently I work for a mid-sized InsureTech that’s had 2 rounds of layoffs in the past 6 months. Salary is 100k, with no defined bonus. I have close to 4 years of PO experience. I am debating whether I want to leave since my boss is very chill and I have amazing WLB. Benefits are eh. 15 PTO days and healthcare premiums are okay. Should I jump ship? What could I be making at a bigger company? What types of companies are most stable right now?

Have a primary home and a vacation home. We go to vacation home for holidays as family is near by but it is a 2 day drive to get there or a plane ride. With our pups driving has become more of the norm. We do not rent when we are not there. Thinking of buying third home about 4 hours from primary home on the coast for enjoyment. I worry about juggling 3 homes. Anyone with experience with this? Advice?

Hey so I work on scheduling and then trying to see any other health care jobs that are remote that are higher positions. Anyone have any recommendations that are remote. Plus that I don’t have to use my pto for holidays.

I just listened to an interview of a creative director recount their path towards copywriting at a famous ad agency. It could not have been a more textbook case of failing upwards as a white man.

It would seem the only thing you need to make it as an advertising creative is to have lots of not particularly original ideas. Practically every other skill is unnecessary. If you’re a white man.

That this level of mediocrity passes for talent explains why so many agency briefs are so lame.
