[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?
Any healthcare executives here?
Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.
Help!

Insurance defense is all civil and contractural- it’s got to be less intense and likely drags on what is called fast track litigation schedules. You only want to set precedent when it favors the industry. It’s likely more about being micro managed with litigation adherence to billing and process protocols, much like a PPO medical plan. A different kind of stress or patience being managed by people who only understand a thread of reality.
Most defence counsel I work with seem to enjoy it but it’s hard to get trial experience
Oh I have the trial experience, lol.
You’ll miss being in court and all the action that comes with it. At best you’ll have 1-2 hearings in a month. You have the trial experience but you won’t put it into practice as often, plus there are stylistic/procedural differences. Also, discovery is a whole different animal. Finally, billing… it’s an adjustment.
I went from three years as a prosecutor to working at a medium size firm (just over 100 lawyers) doing workers comp insurance defense. Avoid workers comp defense at all costs, I should’ve done general liability. You’ll likely work a lot harder in insurance defense but the money will be much better. You’ll probably do very well with depositions but the constant billing and reporting to adjusters is a challenge
Curious, did you make the transition? I did years ago. It was tough.
