Looking for career advice!
Im a new starter in FDD as a Senior, qualified and am sitting for CFA L2. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right to maximise my chances of landing a FO role in a PE/Fund or ER/M&A role at an BB/EB.
A few I've heard so far:
- Get infra deals exp
- Network aggressively
- Leave within 1 yr
JPMorgan Chase Morgan Stanley Goldman Sachs Citi Bank of America Barclays Credit Suisse RBC KKR Blackstone TPG Apollo Global Management, LLC Bain Capital Warburg Pincus

Jump as soon as you can.
Yes. ASAP
Even if you jump at senior level, you may be joining effectively as an associate. Depending on who your audit client is, you may be well positioned for an FDD role, or effectively starting from zero. Have seen both situations over the years with audit xfers.
What type of audit client would you say best positions someone to transfer at the senior level?
Echoing others, I would start prepping and interviewing as soon as possible. It may be tougher making the jump with only two busy seasons under your belt, but wouldn’t say impossible.
Feel free to DM if you have any other questions or interested in making the jump to EY FDD.
Hi there. I'm not OP but in a similar situation. I'm a staff 2 going through my second busy season intending to make the switch this year. Would love to connect with you and pick your brain on what I can do early on to facilitate the transfer to TD.
I made the switch to FDD just before my 3rd busy season. Feel free to DM me - would be happy to share my experience and pass your resume along to my HR.
