Thinking about switching to learning and development or recruiting. Anyone have some strong opinions either way? How would I get started. Feel like I’m late in career path to get a start on either.

I would say learning and development, because often time the first roles to be cut are recruiting departments. At times, recruiting can be hand to mouth, you might have a larger team, and have support, but if you’re in learning and development, you have a smaller team, but may have more job security

like

learning and development is more stable and immune to changes in the job market. also more flexible in terms of hours.

Does anyone have any feedback on how to properly transition into a learning and development role?

Hi everyone! I recently became an L&E attorney representing employers. It was my goal to practice in this field, and I finally have the opportunity. What do you recommend for a new attorney to succeed in L&E? What do you wish you knew when you started? Books or blogs that you recommend to improve my knowledge? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What’s your take on counteroffers? I recently was offered a role at a growing company (Recent IPO) with what looks like a bright future. The downside is it’s a lat move doing sim work with small increase to base but additional bonus and RSUs that won’t vest for 3 years. Main reason I was leaving current role was due to boredom and wanting a change. Recent restructuring at current place has opened opp’s and they countered with a promotion and 30% bump with all new responsibilities/path. Thoughts?

2 - will there be issues with joint ownership (title) if the mortgage does not include us both?
