Honestly if this is your first solo trip, I wouldn’t recommend Cuba. It’s very hard these days for US citizens to get a legit visa, the infrastructure is incredibly behind what we’re used to (ie, the laundromat shut down for a couple days so my hotel just had no towels, we had to use our own clothes as towels), connectivity is basically impossible, it’s very hard to get around if you don’t speak Spanish, and restaurants are weird bc they are semi private/semi government so they are often in people’s living rooms. I loved it, but I went on an official people to people sponsored trip and I still found it a bit challenging as a country (and I’ve been to 40+ countries, so it’s not that I’m just not used to traveling).
Not if you don't speak the language 😉 Kidding.. but if you plan the itinerary out, and ensure you're in well known, public places, keep friends and family aware of your plans, and keep in contact during the trip - you'll be fine! #GirlPower

Ha! Very much misunderstood then lol. In that case, yes they were very flexible! 😂

I was there in December. Went with another woman at BCG. We're both 30, short, but we had zero issues. Cuba is much more safe than most any other place I've been. The catcalling is terrible in ITALY, it's harmless in Cuba.
That said, I'm Australian. I did fly there direct from the US, so I was still subject to the visa scrutiny and my reasons for visiting, but I couldn't say if they went easy on me because I'm not a US citizen.
The visa and travel logistics for Cuba were more stressful than other places I've been. The trip was worth it though. We loved Old Havana and Trinidad in particular. We took a private taxi to get around - random shifty looking men picking us up in private cars, but they were friendly and totally professional.
Spent a few days recovering from sight seeing in Varadero. Stunning beaches.
Cuba is beautiful and very safe. The men were respectful. No catcalling that I can recall, but they will approach you if they are interested.
I don’t know how it is now that the Trump Administration made it harder to visit, but I know a lot of women who has traveled there solo and haven’t had a problem.
Hmm it seems like Cuba might not be the best place for me for solo trip :’) where would you guys recommend (reasonably priced female solo trip destinations over the holiday season)? Things are so expensive holy 😭
Not to just redirect you to a blog post (this is from one of the only travel bloggers I follow), but this is a really great list with a huge variety of places that might spark some inspiration and ideas! And now I totally want to go to French Polynesia...

Europe in general is super easy and safe as a solo female traveler. I’ve stayed in hostels, made friends, did plenty of things solo or with people I met, traveled on trains and buses between cities... never felt unsafe or like any of it was too difficult even having no experience traveling alone before my first trip and not speaking any of the local languages
