Hey everyone - we are looking to buy our first home which would also be our first meaningful investment of any kind. We have lived in US for 4 years now (3 in Houston;1 in Boston). The Boston winter has ensured we don't consider this part of the country as a potential option. I want to go back to Houston but my wife is skeptical to buy there because of hurricanes and flooding risk (she prefers Dallas). I feel Houston has more opportunities work wise. Would appreciate any advice.

I’m planning to build out a set of wealth management tools and would love to get some feedback. When planning for retirement, how would you prioritize the following (and is there anything else you’d consider)
1) early retirement - minimizing the age required to get just enough wealth/ savings to retire (I.e., your target wealth at death is zero)
2) inheritance - maximizing the value of your wealth at the time of your deaths

Something I used to do with my father before he died was fixing his home garden. Thanks to that now whenever I get a new property to sell I dedicate myself to fixing the garden before showing it, I learned to do it very fast and very aesthetically. I'm 22 and planning to take a life insurance. I'm comparing all policies and max life seems attractive as it has good claim settlement ratio and less premiums. But there is no office near our area. My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?
Other options I'm considering are SBI life, HDFC life which offices are available in my locality.

Currently living in California and want to buy a home. The rough part is that I live in the Bay Area where prices are ridiculous for first time home buyers. I’m torn between using my FHA loan to purchase a multi family and just live in one of the units or just buying a nice house and settling there. LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I just opened a Fidelity HSA account so I can begin contributions. When I click on “Invest my future payroll contributions” I get an error screen that says the feature is only available for HSAs actively employed in an employer HSA relationship and not available for individual HSAs. Is this just an issue because I haven’t connected it to my payroll provider yet?

Please correct my thinking if it is flawed/ I’m missing something: Why do people opt for dividend stocks (or other passive income) when they could instead invest in growth stocks (which historically have a higher return) and then take out a portfolio loan for day-to-day cash and substitute paying taxes for loan interest payments (which are significantly lower)?

23, Trying to figure out how to balance putting money away for retirement and slowly saving for down payment in the future (7-9 years). Feel like I should be putting as much as I can away for retirement as early as I can to maximize compounding but also don’t want to screw myself over for a down payment

I had no idea that Regulation D existed (max 6 withdrawals/transfers a month out of savings account). Apparently this paused since April 2020 due to covid.

My paycheck goes straight to CapOne savings and I have a lot of transfers (assuming they are considered transfers). Lump sum to checking (rent mostly), payment of like 4 credit cards, brokerage account, maybe more.

I moved out of my parents place a year ago so maybe I never had 6+ moves until covid. Should I move this activity to checking?
