Done this drive lots of times (usually in 2 days). The “southern” route via the 10 is faster, but covers some painfully boring stretches through West Texas and Cochise County. The “northern” route via the 40 is way longer but way more scenic.
Cheat code: If you take the 40, pick up R95 at Needles to R62 and you can stop by Palm Springs on the home stretch.
I did it with lots of stops. Not bad. If you can make it a 1-2 week vacay do it :)
Santa Fe, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Scottsdale, Phoenix, San Diego are all fun stops. I’m sure there’s a more direct route though
kinda boring, Phoenix to San Diego is a lot of nothing

You'll make Amarillo by morning.
Take the 40. Much more scenic especially if you like back roads. Should spit you out at the 15 to 210 and you take that down to the 57 and ride it over to that point. Might want to stop twice to enjoy the air and flagstaff is amazing.
I drove from LA to Denver in one shot, it’s doable.
I did an inefficient route with stops in Marfa and Tucson.
Driving through west Texas is pretty brutal. That’s one day gone right there. I’d fly out of Texas, then drive the rest of the way if you want to do a road trip.
Also, assuming this is Orange County, CA not FL
Stops in El Paso + Tucson will get you there
