Thinking of going back to public accounting. 3 years real estate tax/audit experience. 2 years SEC / PCAOB experience. Currently a manager at a pre-ipo company. Getting a little pessimistic about my future at current company. Seen more of a cost rather than a profit center. Any one experience the same? I miss being around people I can actually learn from and collaborate with.

Exactly why I avoid industry. DM if you’re open to fully remote at a boutique firm that has a ton of real estate tax work (along with other work). Sounds like you would come in as an experienced tax senior at a minimum. Not sure if that interests you but I figured I’d at least put it out there.

Can you PM me? Just opened my account here. Doesn't allow me to do so.

Exactly why I came back to public. If you find any positions at Crowe that interest you, happy to serve as a reference.

I came back in January (in audit), so almost a year. I was only gone for 6 months, so transition back has been pretty simple.

Different background and roles, but similar situation.

Went back to EY due to missing working with more motivated and talented people.

Curious what you all think of this line from Health and Human Services. Regardless of what you think about the vaccine itself, is the "viral" reference clever or tone-deaf considering how bizarre this whole virus/vaccine situation has been? I’m personally rolling my eyes, but maybe I’m thinking too far into it lol.

I need some advice from advisors who have brought other “Junior” Advisors on. What is a fair split? Currently I have passed on my smaller clients to them, as well as providing consistent leads for them to call and meet with. The individual is working to build their own book of business, but up to now doesn’t have much production. They have only been in the business for about 2 years. I also provide an office and everything that comes with that, and admin assistance. Thanks in advance!

Is it a fair amount for 8.5 YOE? Should he negotiate further. As this is his first offer , should he keep trying for better salary?

Has anyone worked for a startup while also working full time at a consulting firm?

The startup role is part time and almost like a consulting gig - cleaning up their mess and getting systems put into place for a 20 people startup with funding.

Is this a bad idea?

What’s the day-to-day like for a BTS tax consultant at Deloitte? I received a verbal offer for a tax consultant position but after one of my rounds, I became weary in regard to whether this position was right for me. One of my interviewers made the work seem mostly automated and said that 99% of my job would be reviewing and not preparing; while another interviewer made the work seem like it would be similar to what I’m doing now. Can someone tell me what tax staffs do day-to-day/in busy season?
