You’re an associate, calm down. You can find a job and work at the same time.

You’re a piece of meat, associate! That’s what our lord and savior the senior manager is telling us.

Some firms have a policy that you have to stay for a certain amount of time after you come back, so be sure that those won’t get in your way

Is there any way for you to block some time each day for resume/career/certification? I have in the past set a regular occurrence each morning and afternoon where I’d book a conference room, call the meeting ‘working session’ and devote 100% focus towards my personal goals. 2 hrs a day, over the course of a month, you could get a lot done and be in a better place.

Thank you. I've tried a variation of this. However, not implemented this effectively by putting myself first over the firms work

Instead of a sabbatical look at a leave of absence since that doesn’t have the requirement that you have to come back

I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.

Two of my really good friends at work have had their work dry up in the past few months (because of the Rona). I'm like two months ahead of them on hours, and they're worried about not making their minimum billable requirements. Feel sort of guilty and try to avoid talking about hours with them. I'm just hoping the firm doesn't give them trouble...

I need to stay working at my firm until then and possible after to get the billable hours for my CPA. I passed all 4 exams and I refuse to give let that go to waste...... how do I tell my employer I'll be going to school in a way that they'll still let me work part time? Extremely nervous they're just going to let me go.

Hi Guys, I need some help. I had joined kpmg global services recently (7 months) back from one of the IT services companies in an advisory role however now I have received an offer from HCL with 40% hike to my current CTC. What should I do. I have heard that KGS gives decent hikes and bonus payouts however the work is completely backend with limited customer interaction and limited good quality. Can someone throw some light on HCL as well, what is good and what is bad and which to choose

Ever been let go before your billable time entries were in? Was let go today and not all of my time made it in as it was due next week. I’m expecting a heavy payout but I’m wondering if they can withhold since my billables are not in? Seems like their loss at this point.

Advise on handling rates negotiations with BIPOC and non-male creators?
