Agree with the insurance (should be relatively cheap) and clients of course. You may want a business bank account as well. Depending on who your clients will be, you may want to create yourself a standard contract with standard T&Cs if the clients will be small companies / individuals. If big companies you’ll need to use their template so no use wasting money on helping a lawyer draft standard language. Depending on the work you do, you might even be fine with T&Cs from legalzoom without needing to pay a lawyer at all.
Are you going to be an independent contractor or creating a firm with potentially partners/employees down the road? Having additional people will add some other things to consider. If other partners, you’ll want an operating agreement. If employees, you’ll want to look at outsourcing payroll - many places will only give you a quote for 5+ employees.
