Thinking of leaving B4 for Slalom. Pros/cons outside of the B4 pension benefits I would be walking away from.

They are a one trick pony doing staff aug for a skillset that’s getting commoditized. So I would be weary of any promise of never ending growth.

If they really want you most firms are open to discuss covering some or all of your "exit costs" including accrued but not yet vested pension, options, etc. Just make sure you have all those #s at hand when "exit cost" and signing discussion comes up.

I recently considered moving to another B4 from mine. Based upon what I heard from others during my research, you would be leaving $60K-80K/year on table on average for the first 5 years and then in goes up to $80K-$100K per year. I decided not to take that job with other B4 eventually for other reasons.

Partner 3 spoken like someone who has lost to Slalom one too many times. I would disagree about the one trick pony comment. They have really evolved in the last 3 years and directly compete with us across all advisory work.

Agreed with P3. They are absent from most industries and their niche is something to be offshored.

What is anyone’s experience dating someone younger? I am finding that it’s slim pickings for guys in late 30’s/early 40’s— and I am now looking for long term and wanting to settle down and share the rest of my life with the right guy. There is a large dating pool of late 20s and early 30’s. I’ve generally in the past wanted to stay within a few years of age. Anyone have success longterm with a partner 8-12 years younger? What are benefits/ detriments? Thanks…

The scams are always ridiculous too. Like, somebody said they gave their seed phrase (password) away to someone who DMed them and lost a $200k+ ape as a consequence. Like, who are these people?

I received an offer from a quant fund. My offer letter doesn’t explicitly state my role/position, it is nyc based, and that it’s full time. It also doesn’t provide benefits breakdown, just a blanket statement that I’m eligible. I’ve spoken to the recruiter about these items, but general response is that this is standard for the company. To me this is all very strange and I feel it should be defined more. Does this sound normal to others? Can’t tell if i should push on this more or leave it.
